Any good fishing trip recommendations?
Some visitor friends want to go out sea fishing - does anyone know a good reliable way of doing this in TRNC (waters)

Go to the tandrem paragliding office next to the Corner Bistro in Kyrenia Harbour. They have been doing fishing trips for a long time.

Did you need your own kit and did you catch anything? Not that catching anything really bothers me but just interested.

All gear is supplied. Ozgur the skipper will work his socks off to find the fish.
I have always fished for tuna & always caught.
Best haul was 9 all about 13kg mark.
If you click on the fishing calendar on the website it shows the type of fish for the different months of the year.

8 Of us went out twice with the Tandem paragliding boat at £50.00 a head so that was £800.00 and we never even got a bite from a Tuna, first trip we caught a black bin bag 2nd trip we caught one small Dorado of about 1lb in weight.
But they did give us a frozen Tuna from there shop freezer the first trip,2nd trip we got zilch.

Is that any way to speak about a good friend?Lurcher wrote:I was on the same trips as Steve C,Complete waste of time and money !
The sport is fishing - some days you do some days you don't that's the nature of the beast...buying fish is not a sport.

Is October any good for sea fishing? Got my bro-in-law coming then and want to treat him for his birthday.

Must admit we caught nothing on our trip with Ladyboss last summer. Trolling for 5 hours becomes very tedious when nothing is happening! Better if they did a bit of bottom fishing etc?

Re: Any good fishing trip recommendations?
We started doing fishing trips on our boat 14 years ago, when you would catch between 7 and 10 tuna each trip. We stopped taking trips out fishing 4 years ago as it was a boring trolling for 5 hours without a bite.
We sold the boat last year, our price for 5 hours with all the kit including a 300mtr down rigger was 30 TL a head, this more than covered the cost of fuel and the running of the boat. but fuel and running cost have gone up since then.

Okay but covering your costs to defray your chosen leisure pastimes is not quite he same as trying to run a commercial business - a lot of 'businesses' here fail to succeed because they only run on break-even margins -forgetting that Sh1t happens!karmels wrote:We started doing fishing trips on our boat 14 years ago, when you would catch between 7 and 10 tuna each trip.
