Purchased a 4 metre parasol from Tunc Homewares Catalkoy 3 weeks ago. Yesterday found small tear on seem. Told them this morning. Said no problem we change cover arrived within 15 mins job done. Excellent service!!

Better than Stormax - we bought loads of stuff from them this year- two large parasols, six lounger cushions, 6 garden chairs etc. etc. 1 garden chair we discovered had a crack in a fairly vital position (on the join betwixt leg and seat and arm rest) took it back.... 'We don't guarantee our products'... Never again, no business from me - I was livid.

Groucho, I have also voted with my feet after purchasing an electrical product that simply did not work at all from new. The shop was totally disinterested and told me they do not guarantee products.

So, if it is a matter of Caveat Emptor (buyer beware), then can someone tell me how you are supposed to test an electrical appliance before you pay your money.?

Rather expensive in the end having to buy the item twice.

I have just thought though, there is a consumer protection place in Lefkosia. Perhaps they should be made aware of the sharp practices of this business.

Wish I could find out who the owner is.

Voting with your feet though is the best option and informing others of their sharp practices. Eventually they might run out of fools like me and shut their doors due to lack of business.

There are so many good businesses here thank goodness. Will stick with them in the future.
