Sterling Interest Rates

Fed up with Lira!!!!!
Which Bank(s) offer good rates for long term e.g. 6 MONTHS Sterling deposits of say £45K?

You can get 1.7% at Garanti for that amount as you would be considered a Premier Customer (you might even be able to negotiated a little more if you signed up for one year) Less money invested is 1.5% I'm sure you can get a little more with one of the TRNC banks i.e Credit West et al. When I commented on the low rates (same as most UK banks and building societies) she said it was because Sterling was so strong.

You have to ask yourself how and why. If it seems to be too good to be true, then it usually is. I'd be interested to see what other banks are offering and the terms. Turkish banks invariable offer less than TRNC banks, but I still feel safer with them.

Capital bank near Ozankoy is offering nearer 5% on that amount of money, or it was last month...............

Capital reckon that they offer the best rates in town!
4.75% for a 12 month account, monthly interest which if rolled over results in 5.25% for the year
Up to 25% single emergency withdrawal allowed

As a matter of interest "These fears were realized this week when Turkey, seen by most investors as the most fragile of the Fragile Five, raised interest rates 4.25 percentage points on Tuesday"

Thankfully, nearly all my income is in Sterling, with all my outgoings being in Lira.
