Re: just had kib tek bill
If you have not had a breakdown of the units used and price charged per unit, then this is totally unacceptable. These details needs to be texted or e-mail to the customer surely. Has anybody else received their first bill from Kibkom via text or e-mail?

Re: just had kib tek bill
I think the idea is that your FIRST receive a text message that tells you basic information, like how much you owe. Then SECOND you receive a full detailed bill via email. This is the same system that Turkcell use and it is very effective, just hold on a few days and see what happens next.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Just received mine via text in Esentepe
The system appears to be working despite the doubters.

Re: just had kib tek bill
Wonder of wonders, the Kibtek truck arrived today and my meter has been read for the first time since MAY! Ask what happens now and the guy just walked away till I shouted at him and then he said "Bill come telephone", I asked how much and he just shrugged, left the gate open and wandered off.
Now I wait to see if the text arrives - slowly losing the will to live and lost the will to pay Kibtek months ago!

I think most people got a text in Turkish or English asking them to give details of their account number, name on bill and e-mail address!

Just as a matter of interest, for those who have received a bill by text how did you pass your details to Kibtek? Text message, form at the office or something else? If by text, what details did you provide? I responded by text but have yet to receive a bill, text or otherwise. It's at least a week overdue and is not showing up in payments on HSBC online banking system - it usually show up there a couple of days after reading.
Thanks

Re: just had kib tek bill
A few weeks ago Kibtek sent a text to customers asking for account info, mobile phone number and email address. I believe that the plan is to send bill info by text and/or email to those customers who have the new digital meters which, apparently, can be read remotely. There was some info in the press and various forums that indicated that this would be phased in. It also suggested doing nothing if you wanted to continue to receive paper bills. I sent in the info requested, which in itself, was the subject of a lot of debate, in the theory that if I got it wrong I would still receive paper bills. Our meters are normally read in the first week of the month but to date no indication of reading nor receipt of bill.

Well, kibtek turned up this morning and I assume read our meter, which is not a new one, same one that we have had for the past 7 years. Checked in the box, but no bill was left, so now waiting to see if I receive information via phone and email.....I have DD set up with the bank, but would like to see the itemised bill in some shape or form.

Hi yes we had texts which we ignored. Obviously meters are not always in the occupant's name eg in rental properties & where properties have changed hands it will be an absolute nightmare if they do not send out paper bills.

Re: just had kib tek bill
Bills sorted! I will try to make this easy to follow but the key is here: http://www.kibtek.com/
No mater whose name the meter is in you first need to register on that site. Once you have registered you can login to the site. If you are using Google Chrome then it will be translated to English for you as well. When you start to login make sure that the box that say's email actually contains your email address that you registered with - mine keeps coming up with my name and I have to re-enter my email address every time. Fill in the password you chose when you completed registration. Click on "Introduction". You now have to fill in both the empty boxes - the first one is asking for your account number - the second one is asking for your subscribe number. Your account number is your Hesap number on the old paper bill, your subscribe number is the Tuketici Number on the old paper bill. Once you have filled in those numbers, click on "The Last Detail Invoice" button and then on OK in the drop down box - all the other drop down is asking you is if the details you have put in are correct but that stays in Turkish. You will then see a page that gives all your details and a short breakdown of your current bill, including how much you need to pay. If you click on the "Call" button instead of "The Last Detail Button Invoice" it will only display the last bill you have paid (maybe in the future this button will actually display all the payments you have made - who knows?).
I did all of this today as my meter was read yesterday - I printed out the page (right click in any blank area then left click on print) and took that down with me to Kibtek - paid my bill, no problems and went away, almost. I now think that sometime this week I should receive a detailed bill via email but I can not say that for certain.
I did all of the above because - this morning I received a text from Kibtek about a bill. It was not my bill, it was not my account and it was not in my name! Fortune favors the brave!!!!! As it happens, I live in Catalkoy but I happen to know the name of the man the bill was for - how's that for luck? He lives the other side of Esentepe, his email address is vastly different to mine, his telephone number is vastly different to mine and his name is different to mine as well. So when I went to Kibtek and asked why I had received his text they just said "Mistake, ignore it". The funny thing here is that the man had not even filled in the paperwork at Kibtek nor had he sent in a text with the requested information on it yet.

Keith, the end of the saga - my bill for June (which Kibtek told me was free) worked out as 300 units at a total bill cost of 297.84TL My new meter reading bill for the July period worked out as 537 units at a total bill cost of 300.75. How they worked out that and additional 237 units only cost 2.91TL is quite beyond me but now it is all paid and settled. The will to live returns.......................

waddo, I've no idea how they arrived at that figure either!
If the next bill is about right, then at least you'll know that there aren't any 'arrears' waiting to be lumped onto your bill.
I think that you've come out of it rather well!

Thank you I have registered on my phone but nothing happened. Today after reading this I registered online and after a false start (that may have been me as I may have put an incorrect number in) it gave me someone else's bill I tried again and with the correct numbers I now have a screen print of my new bill.
I did try the call button and it gave me a bill I assume for last month but it's about 20tl different to my paper bill?

Thanks Waddo, I registered and logged in. Checked the 3 accounts that I pay, all say last circuit not calculated so I assume that means the meter hasn't been read yet... Looked at last bill which was paid last week and it shows nothing outstanding.

Re: just had kib tek bill
Hi All, Just had ours and our neighbours electric bill by text, after reading the meters when the guy came round to read them, with his machine yesterday. I worked them out, based on last months charges, 1st 258 units at 0.44, 2nd 258 units at 0.48, remainder at 0.52. They have been at this rate for quite a while.
However, the actual bill owed for both of us is between 70TL & 80TL more than the amounts that I worked out???
I am now wondering if they have put up the charges by a considerable amount, this now being hidden because we do not get a piece of paper, as they have changed the system at the same time
If anyone is going to KibTek could they ask what the rates now are and from what date.

Hi Navek,
Thanks for that, however it does seem that these rates came into effect on the 1st February 2015, I honestly believe that they have just gone up again, we shall see.
I heard that they were going up at least 6%, will have to wait and see.

Re: just had kib tek bill
Hi crofter - there would have been, for the 31 day period from your previous meter reading, a charge for 'Maktu Ücret' (a contribution towards infrastructure or some-such) @ 0.75per day = 8.50 TL, and also a charge for general street lighting which is now charged direct by Kibtek, rather than the local Belediye, amounting to around 23 or 24TL. Then add 10% KDV (VAT) onto the total, and I think that that will more-or-less account for the discrepancy.crofter wrote:...the actual bill owed for both of us is between 70TL & 80TL more than the amounts that I worked out...

They'll probably just carry on going into Kibtek or to the bank to pay their bills, and if they go into Kibtek, I'm sure that they'll be able to give 'em a printout, & get 'em set up on the system...

Thanks Waddo - got our electric bill with the information you gave. Printed it off but when looking at it closely the dates on the bill are 03.08.15 to 02.09.15. Must be an error on their part will have to go into the electric board to find out - either that or we are paying in advance and they know how much we are going to use. (haha).

Belkin - The date 03.08.15 is the date the meter was read. The date 02.09.15 is the date you MUST have paid the bill before, otherwise you are liable for late payment charges.

Re: just had kib tek bill
Just thought I would let you know of our experience with the new bills. Received bills for 5 of our neighbours who we pay bills for, out of the 5 bills, 3 of them were very very high. These neighbours have not been out and should have just paid standing charge. My husband went into kibtek and was told the bills must be correct and that the houses must have swimming pools, using air conditioning etc. My husband said no all the properties are empty and we have communal pools. He was then told to take pictures of the meter readings and take these into kibtek on Monday. Husband has done this and all readings bear no resenblance to the readings on the bills. So if you think your bills are incorrect, take photos of meter before going to kibtek. We only hope we do not have this problem every month, as he was in kibtek for over an hour.
