Work Permit Expiry

if my work permit has come to an end, can someone tell me how long I have got before I need to apply for Residency ??? I have heard its 30 days and 45 days.

Also as I have held my work permit for 3 years, am I due a refund ??

can anyone answer for me please.

Hi,

Not sure about residency, but you can claim a refund, check with the 'social sigorta office', it used to be on the street near to Altinbas jewellery shop. Although this entitles you to some degree of insurance, I would ask them how it works. Usually quite helpful people in there. Sorry can't be of further help, perhaps others may have more recent experience of this.

When I enquired about the expiry period I was advised you have 90 days to renew it or get residency BUT during the expired time you have to stay put. Since this advice I always go south the night my permit expires and come back just after midnight to ensure I have a 'so called' valid visa which would enable me to leave without a fine immediately. With having an 85 year Father this would be very important

thanks, that's exactly what I was going to do.......but was stopped by being told it was not necessary and I had 30 days. so now am in a quandry, I am 11 days over the work permit expiry so do you think I should go now, or wait till the 30 days is up ??

all you can do is try,if they wont let you out without a fine you can start residency immediately.so you don't fall foul of the 90 days you can stay in the country
