Border Crossings
Having seen references to "foot crossings" and "vehicle crossings" in relation to various border points, can people cross on foot at Metehan? When coming from Larnaca via an "airport transfer" (vehicle pickup), we have come through Metehan without problems. However, could someone get transport (taxi, bus, whatever) from Larnaca to Metehan and cross on foot ( (the important bit) to be then collected by us on the TRNC side?

Re: Border Crossings
Yes you can.
Also just as easy to use the Kapnos shuttle bus from larnaca, runs every hour, costs €7 to Nicosia so cheaper than a GC taxi. Takes you to the bus station at the top of Ledra street and you can walk across the Locmaci crossing and meet a taxi there.

Thanks for that; I had seen the Kapnos bus link before, but when searching on Google maps, it only showed Kapnos as being about 4 Km away from the Ledra Street crossing - is the bus station nearer to the actual crossing point?

You have to get a taxi from Kapnos depot to the top of Ledra street as their bus doesn't go to that bus station.

Re: Border Crossings
An important point worth noting:
When you arrive at the Kapnos Depot at Nicosia, you need to cross over the bridge to the bus stop on the OTHER side of the road - if you don't, you'll be catching a bus in the wrong direction!
The Kapnos drop-off point in Nicosia is just near Eleftheria [Freedom] Square - you only need to walk up the main shopping street [Makarios Ave] to the border crossing. Make sure your suitcase wheels are goodo!

Whoops - not the Kapnos drop-off point - I should have said the Nicosia municipality bus drop-off point near Eleftheria Square - sorry!
