On line and off line status

Just as a matter of interest, why, when I have clicked on "hide my online status" do I still appear as being on line with others plus 5 guests. It rather defeats the object doesn't it?

are you sure your online to other people to see ? you maybe showing online to you as you are

I don't know the answer to that, my name just appears with other as "on line" plus a few guests. Only other people will be able to answer your question, plus the person who set up the programme I suppose.

Are now I see it. If you have clicked on "do not show my online status" you name appears with the people who are on line at the same time, but your name is in italics.
