Swimming pools Warning
To those of you who pay to have a swimming pool looked after, please beware that some people who are looking after pools
are using copper sulphate in pools that they are looking after.
Some are also using empty zerochlor bottles and putting copper sulphate in zerochlor bottles and letting the customer think that they are
using zerochlor in the pools. If your pool man does use zerochlor in your pool please make sure you see him open the bottle
if you are around and make sure when the top is taken off the bottle that there is a white paper with foil back sealing the bottle under the cap.
Is copper sulphate dangerous to use in your pool, well i would not like to pay a pool cleaner to maintain my pool with zerochlor and then he uses copper sulphate !
Check out the link below
http://www.disabled-world.com/medical/a ... estone.php
Copper sulfate is an irritant. The usual routes by which humans can receive toxic exposure to copper sulfate are through eye or skin contact, as well as by inhaling powders and dusts. Skin contact may result in itching or eczema. Eye contact with copper sulfate can cause conjunctivitis, inflammation of the eyelid lining, ulceration, and clouding of the cornea.
Please make sure that your poolman is not using this copper sulphate in your pools,if your pool is starting to look unusually very blue recently that could be a sign ,even if your not paying him to use zerochlor,do not allow copper sulphate to be put into your pool.
At the moment i have not got the proof i need that certain pool cleaners are doing this with zerochlor bottles and this is why i am asking you to be vigilant ,a pool cleaner
has no reason to take away an empty zerochlor bottle from your home after he has used it in your pool,he can put it in your garbage bin,why take away an empty plastic bottle when he could drop it in your bin !

Navek, please can you tell us where you are buying your Zerochlor from?
If the white seal is broken, what is under the white plastic cap when you remove it and what colour is the liquid inside?
Looking forward to your reply.
Thank you

All ZC bottles are sealed at the neck of the bottle and under the cap the opening of the bottle is also sealed.
Where do you buy your ZC navek

That is just how the bottles should be .
People who have their pool maintained should be vigilant as copper sulphate is definitely being used to make
the pool water look beautiful.
If you're paying for chlorine you want chlorine to be used and if paying for ZC you want ZC to be used, copper sulphate is very cheap
to buy and is used by some gardeners .

Hi bargainboozeandwines,
You're the one warning customers to check their seals...
"If your pool man does use zerochlor in your pool please make sure you see him open the bottle
if you are around and make sure when the top is taken off the bottle that there is a white paper with foil back sealing the bottle under the cap."
"To those of you who pay to have a swimming pool looked after, please beware that some people who are looking after pools are using copper sulphate in pools that they are looking after."
"All ZC bottles are sealed at the neck of the bottle and under the cap the opening of the bottle is also sealed."
I'm just stating what I've experienced lately.
By the way, there has not, or ever have been any problems with the contents of any Zerochlor bottles I have purchased.

Hi frontalman,
I have bought from the Importer from day 1.
Never been ripped off.
Been buying lately from a pool shop in Catalkoy.
No problems.
Only stating some facts, not problems

Re: Swimming pools Warning
My pool cleaner, who I trust implicitly, said "I wonder if the people who use ZC, realise just how much Copper Sulphate it has in it"
Having read as much as I could understand on the subject I am one of the people who believe that Chlorine is the only true way to control a pool. With the caveat that the cleaner really has to know what he is doing. Sadly a large proportion of them don't and equally sadly many pool owners don't know the good from the bad. Why should they, I doubt that many Brits and other ex-pats had pools in their back yards.

Navek, yes you used to buy it from the brand owner importer and now you buy it from the distributor in cyprus, Navek my original question was to those who pay to have their pools looked after,it seems YOU look after your own pool so i do not know why you responded to this post ,or maybe i do !
Sophie, sadly your pool cleaner knows nothing about ZC or its structure, there is no copper sulfate in ZC . natural mineral ions copper, silver, zinc, aluminium and gold mean it is a natural biocide which destroys bacteria and algae within your pool or spa without the need for chemicals.
What i am trying to do is let people know that there are some pool cleaners out there who are ripping off their customers who are paying for a service and not getting the service they are paying for, that's the reason for this post,ZC has been here in the market now for almost 5 years and is still the best way to sanitize a pool if you wish to go the non chlorine route,or virtually non chlorine route.

So you could be mistaken?
Why not wait until you have proof?

If you know they only spend 3 mins then I guess you are watching them at work... so take them to task. If you pay for a service it's a bit mental to let them not provide it.

Hello Darzee, you mention Floatron, how often would you need to vacuum the pool for filter clean and back wash with this Floatron. Can you buy this in NC and how often would you need to replace ?

Floatron is a solar powered ioniser. I.e. it filter your water and you use less chemicals so , in the long run, it works out cheaper. The initial unit is quite expensive which is made in the USA but we got ours from an agent in the U.K.
pOOL CLEAN AS NORMAL BUT WITH LESS CHEMICALS .
Feel free to PM me.
After all we are here to help each other right???
