Does anyone know where I can find information on this on the internet? (Times, days of operation etc). Ideally I'm looking for the ferry operator's website.
I'm driving to the TRNC in 2-3 weeks time and need to know when the ferry runs. Also do you need to book in advance or can you buy tickets on the day of (or day before) travel?

We did the crossing 4 years ago...on a Sunday night if I remember correctly. Bought tickets on the day. It's a horrendous crossing! The boats are decommıssioned 1950s Mersey ferries (they have2). They are smelly and slow! We spent the crossing in sleeping bags on the deck.

Search for filo denizlik Web site it is in English.
The cost of car and driver one way from Tasucu is 165 tl.
The cost of extra passengers is 55tl.
We are in Tasucu at the moment and will sail back on Tuesday night.
Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention you can book on line.
The ferry office is just up on the right from the harbour entrance .
you will have to go to the ferry office before you go into the harbour.
There is a 55tl harbour charge on top of the ferry price.
The harbour opens at 22.00hrs.

Hi Karmels,

Is it still a grim crossing on the Filo ferries and is the paperwork at the Girne end still a nightmare?

Thank you,

Hi,

If you are bringing more than a suitcase with your clothes inside, the paperwork is still a nightmare when you reach Kyrenia.

My son arrived last October with a small van and his favourite posessions and they went through everything in the van even

though he had an inventory in turkish. He had packed some things in cartons which had at one time been used for electrical

appliances, which the customs got very excited about but then became quite angry when once unpacked only contained bedding.

He had to pay £125.00 duty on a 5 years old TV
