Re: Fun quiz night for Mad Ray
Thank you Soner and Marions for your best wishes. Sadly, Ray still remains in a critical condition.
We had a very well attended quiz night.
Thanks to David for his hard work and humour which meant we all had a good fun night and managed to raise 1000tl. Thanks to Kevin at the Yellow Orchid for supplying food during the interval.
We will be arranging further event in the near future and details will be placed on here.
Thanks everyone for your support.

In addition to the quiz night at Yellow Orchid, Keith played an additional game of bingo at Freddies bar in Alsanck. In total they raised 260tl with some donations. Further additional games are planned for the future.
Many thanks to all involved.

Re: Fun quiz night for Mad Ray
Just a quick update regarding Mad Ray.
he is currently in Lefkosa state hospital, where he has been for the past 6 weeks. He was initially diagnosed with Pancreatis but sadly his condition has deteriorated to the point that he is now in intensive care and in a critical condition. The hospital costs, whilst obviously not an issue with his wife, are mounting so in order to help with this situation we decided it would be a nice gesture to our good friend to try to raise some money to help with the hospital bills. we anticipate that the costs involved may reach as high as 5000tl.
I am extremely grateful for the support we have received so far.

Re: Fun quiz night for Mad Ray
Sincerely hope he fulls through. My husband having very recently had a very close shave with death. We are pretty well housebound for the next few weeks so cannot attend fundraisers. Would like to chip in so let me know where if anywhere in the Girne area I can make a donation.
Re cost - for the Hospital bed, drugs and investigations on Acute Coronary Care for 1 week (including Emergency Transfer from Girne to Lefkosa/resuscitation at Girne ). 2,220TL. The Angioplasty/Stent was billed seperately and cost more than the hospital bill.
I feel I know a little of what his wife is going through and friends like you are an absolute lifeline.
Good on you all.
Angela

Hi Angela,
thanks for the message, I hope your husband is feeling better now. It certainly is a very stressful time for Gill at the moment, so we want to do all we can to help her through this awful time.
I am grateful for your offer and if you would like to ring me on 0533 862 4001 perhaps we could meet next time I am in town.
thank you

Re: Fun quiz night for Mad Ray
Just a quick update, Ray is responding to the antibiotics and is progressing albeit slowly. He is still in intensive care but his doctor told gill that yesterday was the best he has seen ray in the past 10 days. so good news.
We have so far raised over 1500tl, I have just started a sponsored weight loss. My aim is to lose 10kilo by 18 December and my sponsorship to date is around 750tl. If anyone wishes to sponsor me you can call me on 0533 862 4001
thanks

Hi Angela, it was nice to talk to you the other day. Isnt it odd that you actually met gill at the hospital before I started this thread.
I am looking forward to meeting up with you.

Well some really good news. Shortly after writing about Rays progress I received a phone call from Gill telling me that Ray has been taken back to the general ward. A small step forward.

Update.
As posted elsewhere, Ray has had to undergo further surgery and is currently in a critical condition.
We are looking for blood donors with blood type BRH negative, which appears to be a rare blood group. If you are willing to donate blood please contact me on 0533 862 4001.
thank you
