URGENT Please help rehome the abandoned dogs.

Please, please, please.

We can no longer do anything about the previous owners so can we forget the inquest over how it happened and concentrate on solving the problem. Please try and help and do not post on this thread unless it is a positive posting or it will be deleted. Hot air is not helping these animals
Thanks

Could someone put the pictures of the dogs on here please? They are on FB - some members of Kibkom may not have seen them and I think it could help.

Five innocents who did not deserve to be abandoned.
I think we all can see from these pictures how friendly and loving they all are.
It seems to have gone quiet on this post but the dogs are still in the same situation as before and need help!
They would not survive out on the streets as they have been family pets and it is a big ask of anyone to rehome five, an impossible ask!
Any thoughts anyone? Please don't lets forget about them.

It's a Good Night from me and the man himself, who is already snoring!
Is it a good night for the five with their future hanging by a string?
I really am not sure that the moderator who closed the original post has helped these dogs by doing so!
Yes! there were feelings being expressed rightly and wrongly but the post was alive! Not anymore!
My last thoughts for tonight is how lucky we are - how lucky our five are!
The five poor souls that Mr. Peter and Mrs. Angela Hogan abandoned are NOT so!
Is there anyone who can help them?

And in a few days everybody will forget about these poor dogs and wont even bother to find out what has actually happened to them

As Art and also myself pointed out that there must be people willing to help these animals one way or the other at least to buy them more time.

I myself, cannot take in any more dogs, but willing to donate for them in support of a foster home, or maybe even for them staying longer at the kennels.

Like many others we have two street dogs and another would not be welcomed by our younger dog Tess.

My wife and I are more than happy to make a donation to help buy these dogs some valuable time.

Perhaps the owners of other Kennels can help and how about KAR?

Yes, what about KAR?

We all donate quite heavily and now we should be able to look to them to help these poor creatures.

Perhaps they would take them if we all donated some money to help support them.

I would give anything to have a couple of these dogs but due to my coming and going to and fro to the UK for medical reasons absolutely cannot.

I am very happy though to foster one, perhaps until spring and support KAR in their efforts.

Perhaps we need a fresh way of looking at the problem?

If KAR were promised say £50 per week to feed these animals and a supply of people to either foster them or walk them perhaps they would consider doing it.

We absolutely must NOT allow these lovely animals to be destroyed (I hate the euphamism 'putting to sleep') Death is not to be taken lightly.

I know that BBB would not mind me offering help in anyway for these dogs - the now 'Famous Five of North Cyprus' but not in a good way!
We cannot physically take on anymore , five we have in our family plus from time to time I look after others who we have rescued and managed to rehome but I would willingly support anyone else who could foster one !
The dogs have been part of a family ! I just cannot imagine leaving any of mine behind for whatever reason! There is no excuse whatsoever for what the owners have done.
All we can do is try our best to put the wrong right and give these dogs a happy and safe future.

BBB's other half - wishing, praying and begging for help - the dog's can't do it for themselves!

We have 7 and really can't take anymore, In our case were anything to go wrong for us they all have had rabies injections and could travel back to UK, I frequently tell my grown up offspring that their inheritance is tied to caring for the dogs but if circumstances were different I'm not sure I would want a life at KAR for them, no that's no reflection on KAR but rather the effect that the change in their lives would have on them. Our oldest rescue dog even now gets very upset if one or other of us isn't here. I know I will be shot down in flames but if good homes couldn't be found for them I think I'd rather they were put down. Sometimes in these circumstances people take on a dog that they don't really want and it ends up on the street I don't think any of mine would know where to start surviving that way now. I also regrettably think there are less people about who can or want to take on dogs/cats. I know it's not a lot of help but will willingly contribute to their keep for a while.Oh and to Peter and Angela don't know you wouldn't want to know you but if you read this I've always believed at the end of the day people get what they deserve.

We have rescue dogs and the bitch is both possessive and jealous so we cannot physically take any dogs or cats. However, if a properly managed fund was established, we'd happily contribute towards the care of these 5 innocents on a regular basis.

There is no physical room at the KAR kennels for 5 more dogs. It is already heavily 'over capacity' as it is. I also agree with loobyloo, that such a 'solution' is not one that is compatible with having the best interests of these dogs at heart.

Thank you enrol for putting the last message on. I donate two of my days a week to helping at the centre and please believe him when he says we are full. It is not as easy saying can't KAR take them and we will help support financially,we are full to the brim. Why not come up and take a look round some day and get a clear understanding of what it's like up there and the constant battle we face on a daily basis.

I am sorry for the poor dogs and that Suzanne has been put in this situation but please don't start having a go at KAR.

This is a coment made on Facebook by the KAR centre manager.

Absolutely frustrated with this whole situation. Peter and Angela WERE friends of mine and I am disgusted that they dumped their dogs on Suzanne, HOWEVER, this is something that we deal with on a daily basis at KAR and should we be the ones threatening euthanasia there would be uproar. Does no one understand we have over 400 dogs now and are at our absolute limit. We are in the exact same situation as K9 regarding dumped dogs but we get slated by the same people time and time again for decisions we have to make. We have no space at all for any dogs. I know these 5 dogs and I really hope they can be re homed. What is the solution? Everyone I meet already has x amount of animals. It is endless! They did have a daughter Emma from Lapta. Is she still here or did they move with her and her baby?

I second Art's comment in support of KAR and I have seen first hand the shelter and all the dogs in KAR's care.
If we all can support the five dogs until homes are found for them - I think is the best way to go!
If the kennels they are in now have not got the space anymore because of prior, official bookings - are there other kennels?

I deplore the criticism of KARs efforts, whatever an individual's opinion of the organization may be, and my offer to give financial support for these 5 dogs was certainly not intended to belittle what KAR provides (I wish it could be geographically extended, but that's a separate issue). Our two hounds came from KAR and give us an enormous amount of pleasure, fun and family/home completeness. If another, temporary, measure can be found, for these 5 dogs, we'll happily contribute towards their care - be that food or money via a properly funded system.

Please back off KAR. They are bursting at the seams. Dogs and puppies are being dumped on them on a daily basis. Think of the 5 and then add 395, plus pups, plus all the cats and kittens they have. Those of you who ask "can't KAR do something", please get in your car and see for yourself what it is like. Please also remember the dozens and dozens of tagged dogs which KAR has neutered and spayed. This is a situation that others are going to have to solve. Remember KAR stands for Kyrenia Animal Rescue and these dogs are in a safe and not overcrowded environment. When you run kennels as a Commercial business, having dogs left with you and owners doing a runner, is a hazard that all kennel owners face and have to live with. Sadly it comes with the territory as anyone running other than a small backyard establishment where owners are usually personally known, will tell you. This maybe the first time it has happened to K9 and if it is, they have been lucky so far.

If the Hogans are reading these messages they must be rubbing their hands in glee reading that other people are walking behind them (as per the Lords Mayors Show) and cleaning up the mess they have left behind.

I do not think the majority on kIBKOM are having a go at KAR - far from it. They were just asking them for help.
The Hogans were known to many good people who are shocked at what they have done so really the kennel owner did not stand much chance of thinking them capable of planning to dump their dogs with her. I try and think the best of people and am sure that most others do! A teacher and his wife who have a daughter Emma and granddaughter maybe still here would have fooled me, I think.
They were from Ozankoy but then moved Lapta way for a month! Good move getting away from people who knew them and their dogs.
Has anyone come up with a positive plan of action for these five? They are getting offers of financial help from many here on the forum, including myself but we need to put this together somehow.
Is there anyone who can foster these dogs or even one of them?
Please lets not give up on them - I know we can help them!

I have just heard that the Lady who owns K9 has somehow by a miracle, found someone to take all five of them!
If this is true, maybe someone can confirm this, would it be acceptable for us Kibkom members to help with a gift towards food, bowls or anything the dogs may need!
Could anyone who knows more about this and if it is true, let us know please - we have tried our best for them!

It has been confirmed that a Lady dog owner has taken in the ''Famous Five'' to live with her and her other dogs, on a trial basis at the moment as all the dogs need to be able to get on and live together happily.
I am over the moon and so grateful to her and also to the Lady owner of K9 and Claire Lamb for working so hard on behalf of them.
Dog food, bowls, bedding etc would be appreciated to help this Lady and ease the burden a little. In the future there could be Vets bills to consider as well.
To all those who have been touched by this horror story and wanted to help the dogs in some way - this could be how you can?
Everything crossed that the Lady, her dogs and the 'Famous Five' can now live ''Happily Ever After''.

Mr. Peter Hogan and Mrs. Angela Hogan - I have a feeling you will be reading this! It would be nice if your new employer and new co-workers at the school in Abu Dhabi were as well. They would then be able to decide for themselves what kind of people you both really are, as we all have done!

BBB's other half - Cheers to the Famous Five, to Suzanne (k9) and to Claire Lamb!

You say she may not need them, c`mon she is taking on 5 rather large dogs, food alone is going to be astronomical over the long term, tell me about is, apart from vets bills. Cannot do very much from here in Ireland, but would be prepared to chip in. This lady who ever she is,is an angel of the top order.

Claire Lamb is not the Lady who has rehomed the dogs but is the Lady with Suzanne the owner of K9 kennels who has fought for them and found them a home - trial as it maybe but looking good!
I can ask her how we can help if everyone wants me to - no problem.

Good Morning everyone!
I have just been in contact with Claire Lamb and Suzanne ( the owner of K9 Kennels) - the two Wonder Women who worked their cloaks off for the ''Famous Five''.
Suzanne is in daily contact with the Lady who has taken them into her home, either by phone calls or actual visits to make sure everything is working out fine and all the dogs are happy and well.
Things are looking good folks!
I asked her how any of us who wanted to - could help and how?
Suzanne is more than happy to be the go between! She said that bags of food would be most helpful but also there are two pieces of fencing at the Lady's house which needs some attention, as it is weakening the security of the garden area!
Could we help to put this right? We do not want any of the dogs to get out from their safe zone!
I live in Catalkoy and would be happy to meet up with anyone who wanted to help and then I could get anything over to Suzanne, as I believe she is way past Esentepe way! Unless you live that way anyway , then you would be nearer than me.

What do you think anyone who has wanted to donate, gift, support their new owner as we said we would IF one could be found!
Please, let me have your views on this - would this way work?

BBB's other Half - on behalf of the 'Famous Five'. I am just so happy for them!

Just wanted to say thank you to those of you who have given help to the Famous five so far!
It was lovely meeting the two Ladies this morning , one of them being Owl Lady with her broken ankle and the other who I had not met before but who had taken the story of these dogs to heart and just wanted to help them.
I have passed contact details on of someone to Suzanne who has offered wire meshing for the damaged fencing and food for the dogs, if this happens I am sure it will be at least one worry less for the Lady who has rehomed them.
I will be meeting Claire on Monday to give her anything I have been given for them - if there is anyone else who wants to help them please just let me know.

A BIG thank you to Kibkom and its members from the Famous Five and their new family. (and me as well)

They were recognised just over the Locmaci Border and actually spoken to, so there can be no error of mistaken identity.
Let people make their own minds up to what they think of people who set out to plan in such depth and carry out abandonment of their five family pets. Not Abu Dhabi after all or at least not yet!
I also would like to thank on behalf of ''The Five' and the kind Lady who is now looking after them, the recent promise of food for them. If anyone else would still like to help in anyway, just PM me. OK!

Fencing fixed to the kind Samaritan's requirement and the dogs all appeared happy, if not bonkers surrounded by the original resident dogs. To the Hogans, karma will prevail.

It is to be hoped that whover saw them in the southern region put the boot into the nether regions.

Me again - Bad news I am afraid!
Two of the Famous Five, Groucho and Hardy are unfortunately too much for the Lady to manage.
It is not because of any malice in their natures, they are both beautiful friendly boys and she is gutted that it is not working out for her to keep all of them but with her own six as well !!!
She has given it her best shot but that number of dogs and trying to look after them on her own, not many would have even tried it!
The reason I have added this post and not started a new one is because there are photo's of Groucho and Hardy for people to see
They are the larger of the dogs shown, both black pointer /Labrador type dogs, both very happy and fun loving !
Is there anyone who can help them? I know it is a long shot because of the volume of homeless dogs there are now but they do deserve a chance of a happy life after being left behind by their Family .

Thank you to the lovely Lady and Gentlemen who I met today that gave me two bags of food for the Famous Five.
I am pleased to be able to say that we are not all bad , are we!
As I posted before, two of the dogs Groucho and Hardy are now looking for another home! So sad but the Lady who took them all in has tried her very best but has been defeated by numbers.
Is their anyone reading this that can help them? Their pictures are on some of the first postings.
Knowing this now, I wish the people who actually came across Mr. and Mrs. Hogan on the south side could have shown them the Kibkom postings!
Would it have got to them, would it have made them feel guilty for their actions, would they have shown remorse - maybe not!

If there is anything anyone can do to help, just pm me.
