New screen for samsung galaxy S3
I dropped my mobile from waist height and now the screen won't come on. There is no visible damage so the fall must have dislodged something inside. I have been told I need a new screen by samsung but at 450tl it doesn't seem worth it. Is there anywhere else that does this sort of repair at a more reasonable cost ?

Don't know if this helps. One of my phones is a Galaxy Ace. I had a news screen fitted in a shop which is the first one on the right down the first shopping street in Girne. As I recall it was nowhere near half that price. I realize you have a different model. Worth a visit to shop I would have thought.

How about Ebay?
Screens appear to be about £50.

Yes I have seen them on Ebay but is it as simple as just taking off one screen and replacing it?

If you've never worked on any really delicate, fiddly electronic gear before, Then I wouldn't recommend that you attempt it.
You must also be careful to observe anti-static precautions, as static can kill the thing completely...
You said that 'samsung' told you that you needed a new screen.
Was that the Samsung 'helpline', or a Samsung reseller in TRNC (there are no 'Samsung' branches in TRNC!)
If it was a local re-seller, did they dismantle the phone to test it, and to check that it wasn't just a lead or plug come loose?
If not, take it to the repairer mentioned below, and get them to have a proper look at it, then you will at least know where to go from there.

There are youtube videos on line showing how to replace the screen. It involves using a hairdryer to loosen the glue!!!! I don't think I would try it.
I would get a quote and send it back to UK to one of the online repairers.
OR Try the local man. If he hasn't got the parts you could get them on Ebay.

Hi Judy, there wasn't actually a link, I was just referring to the post that said "...had a news screen fitted in a shop which is the first one on the right down the first shopping street in Girne."
Good luck!
