Cataract Operation
A friend is considering having a cataract removed whilst on holiday in the TRNC. Has anyone experience of this procedure (here) and prepared to recommend a hospital and surgeon? He will be based in Bogaz (iskele) but happy to travel.
TIA.
TIA.

Dr Guvenir in Nicosia. Clinic is nearly opposite the general hospital. Operates at the Etic hospital just around the corner. Lovely guy.

Ankara has major first-class medical facilities, is far cheaper and employs top surgeons. I'm unsure of the implication of poster 4, but if he/she has never researched what is available there, I would suggest you learn from your own message. Hoisted by your own petard!

Price comes in to it but I find most medical stuff here is a bit hit and miss, I too would try Ankara. Recently visited Dunyagoz in Ankara for an eye test and their facility seemed impressive but many to choose from in the Tunel district. Flights to Ankara are peanuts and a half decent hotel will set you back 100tl per night.

I think it's difficult to put a price on eye surgery in Turkey, only if you have had the treatment done yourself. There are lots to choose from and you would have to get individual quotes.
This may be a start for information but you could google to find out more. Also forums like Yell Ali they are helpful with questions and Mymerhaba also.

Re: Cataract Operation
My Dad had his done at the Girne Eye Clinic when he was 89, with all sorts of health issues. The care could not have been better, and he had no problems whatsoever afterwards, unlike the one he had done previously in UK, when he had all manner of complications. There is also the Near East Hospital in Lefkosa.
This may be a scary procedure for the patient, but is standard for the professionals. No need to bother with Ankara.
