Took an old bill into the bank today and paid it there no problem. 123tl for a month of using 2 fans all day and some aircon so not too bad.

So Deniz1 are you saying just go into our bank and they will know what we need to pay if we take in an old bill?have tried inputting our details with kibtek online but it keeps coming up with 0tl, by going into the bank it would save a trip into town .

Yes, you can go on with old bill..... You just won't have a meter reading. I got the amounts of the website, went into bank with account numbers and amounts tallied and paid as normal.

Just checked the Kibtek website and our bills are there with all the info, start and end readings, units used, standing charge, etc. Says the meter was read on 10th August but has, obviously, just been input. Up to that point it was showing 0tl, so I would say that if there isn't an amount showing on the Kibtek website there is no point going to the bank as they are fed the details by Kibtek.

conclusions the bank are paying it as usual

Mine is usually read on the10th of the month so i give them a few days to upload the info then go to the bank as usual.

Hi thanks for all the info guys it made it easy to register with the information you provided.
Basically once you have registered with your name, password & email address you can access any bill whether it is in your name or not.

Log on to kibtec using google chrome(it translates automatically) crate an account using your email address and password of your choice
You can then see your current bill from kibtec read back through the post and you will pick up the thread and get your readings

So how do you actually check usage when looking at the meter, as there seems to be many screens which seems pretty confusing ?

No, Owl Lady still no itemised bill, but I live in hope, otherwise why would they want my email address in the text they sent.....fingers crossed. Have checked my bank account though and it is showing as a pending payment going out next month....so that bit seems to have worked.

cjtill, if you put the manufacture details (make - model etc) into Google search you can get the whole instruction booklet in PDF format - then it is up to you how much reading you want to do. I have downloaded it twice now and still wish I had paid more attention at school!!!

Cjtill, wait until it cycles to KWh and that should be your reading, that's what tallies with the reading by Kibtek for us.

I press the blue rubber button 6 times and then it shows a row of zeros next push it shows the meter reading.

Information:

There are two keys on every meters front side:  Scroll key – the blue key that is always accessible. Its primary function is to scroll data from the
Manual scroll sequence on the LCD.
 Reset key – the orange key that is under the lid with a hinge and can be sealed independently
from the meter cover.

Use of Scroll Key
The Scroll key enables three different types of key press, depending on duration:  Short press → time of key depression shorter than 2s:
Next data in the manual sequence is displayed.  Long press → time of key depression longer than 5s:
Displayed submenu or function is selected,  Extended press → time of key depression longer than 8s:
Enter to menu.
The Scroll key functions are:  LCD display test performing,  displayed list data view,  switching to the meter test operation mode,  disconnector disconnection or reconnection,  short time press scrolls the display,  long time press enables to perform different function such as disconnector connection /disconnection or emergency credit selection.

"Given the above I would suggest that if you are going to press the BLUE scroll key then only press it for less than 2 seconds - who knows what would happen if you pressed it for longer?"

I think the amount of times you press the key is dependent upon where the readout is when you begin!! Hope this helps or at least gives you something to do this hot afternoon.

Well the system is working, I got a text & an email on Wed saying the meter had been read & here is the bill, so they must now be reading the meter on the 1st of the month.

Just to clarify, if you don't mind - on what what date did they normally read the meter, before the new meters were installed?

I think the day the meter was read was a function of the area you lived in. Our meter was read at the end of the month and normally paid (automatically via the bank) on the 29/30 of the month.

The new meter was fitted last week and they left a paper bill for August. On the 31st we received the SMS which repeated the amount that was on the paper bill.

Hi Bowman, It was also my understanding that the bills used to be produced on a schedule that depended on the Meter Readers' 'Circuits' (pun not intended ) - mainly because the Meter Readers produced the bill 'on the spot' using a portable terminal.

This had the obvious advantage of staggering the 'Due Dates', and tended to avoid the sort of problems that would occur if everyone turned up to pay their bill on the same day!

I just wondered whether they were still staggering the dates in (approximate) line with the same schedule, or as Belfast Belle's post might imply, had instituted a new timetable ( or even, Heaven Forfend, decided to issue them all on the same date!).

Time - and more data! - will tell...

My friend went to the bank on Wednesday bank said that she couldn't pay at bank so she went to the exchange shop in alsancak as upstairs you can pay all your bills there but they said that the elec bill couldn't be paid there either so not a clue what's going on.

Solic200, I wonder if it is because your bill is not in the Kibtek payment system yet. Our meter was read on 1st September, I got a text and email on 2nd but when I checked on the online system it wasn't there, it's only appeared today.

Well I came over in October and just found a bunch of paper bills as normal (I was last in TRNC in Feb so I missed the changeover).

I did notice that the meter was changed ( I'm in Catalkoy).

There was no piece of paper telling me to register or informing me of the swap so I just went into the office as normal and paid cash over the counter as I always do.

I have registered on the Kibtek site without any problem. Our meter was changed on 19th October and was read. They produced a paper bill - which we later found not in our postbox but screwed up and thrown down in the gutter. I have logged into our Kibtek account and it us saying there is not yet any bill for the last period. How long does it usually take between meter reading and for it to be visible online?
