Just to be clear currently neither the Multimax free (manual) VPN or a paid for third party VPN service I use (streamvia.net) is being blocked, but it may indicate that the BBC is starting to take a closer look at VPN based use of iPlayer and how they might limit it. Then again it may just be a 'glitch' of some sort that has affected this one particular VPN provider and indicative of nothing ultimately.

I was always under the impression that if one wanted to watch BBC you had to pay a licence fee?

Re: Slightly worrying news re BBC iPlayer use via VPN servic
I use SaferVPN and yesterday I was also blocked by the BBC. I got in touch with the technical help desk and they told me to type check my vpn address in the browser which will tell if it is recognised as the UK. Mine showed me to be in Hungary so I deleted the VPN/app and had it reset and this worked. I have to say that carrying this out myself and succeeding was more by good fortune than anything else.
