To add to this post, if I hear nothing positive, I will be writing an article for any of the press that may be interested, including your registration number and witness statements,and photos and videaos of your dog, and this post has also gone to Facebook. I also have a contact who is a local hunter and I will speak to him. He works for the Belediyse and I feel he will not want to be tarred with your brush, so please contact me in the next 24 hours and collect your dog, who is by no fault of her own causing chaos and distress in our village

No,D, maybe not but what else can I do? Maybe their sons or daughters, or any other people, or anyone else affectedby their behaviour, may know them, and make this distress known to them. Whatwould you do? any help gratefully received

Don't bother with C2D, you'd be speaking to the converted. You need to contact TC papers KIBRIS and the STAR, with all the details, plus a photo of the dog if possible. Assuming the dog has been dumped, which is more than likely, you will be one of the very few who have caught someone in the act and hopefully this person can be made an example of. Perhaps if everyone kept this registration number in plain view in their own cars, it might just be spotted outside a property somewhere. You never know.

Do what you said you were going to do. In the morning go to the Police and Belediye/Baskani/Muhtar with the details you have and air your views to them.

Calling people names is not worth the energy if they are unlikely to come on this forum.

Good luck. Finally someone has caught them in action. I hope, if this person did dump their dog, they are named and shamed and it will be a warning to others. I can understand your outburst totally, it's a very emotional thing to deal with if you are an animal lover. It just shows you care when unfortunately most do not.

Although I can't help but agree with the name and shame action you are proposing, I only hope the dog DOESN'T go back to its owner. It appears obvious that the owner wanted rid of it and I can't help thinking that if the dog goes back, next time the owner will drive it into the mountains and tie it to a tree. Surely the best future for the dog is to never see the owner again.
I sympathise if it is causing problems in your village, but that is where the muhtar and belediyse should be involved.

unfortunately we have neighbours who are ''Hunters' but they do seem to care for their dogs and exercise them daily.
I will show them the Reg: No: as I do not think they would approve of a dog being 'dumped' !

Off out and about today, with the reg number stuck on the glove compartment. I have SME phone number to contact immediately if I do see it on the road. Perhaps the kind people of Kyalar could get together and adopt the dog, at least it means someone will be able to keep an eye on it, without one person actually having to take full responsibility. Just a thought. It works in some parts of Istanbul and other places in Turkey.

I will certainly leave food and water if I see the dog, but we have 6 already. The villagers are a bit fed up with dogs I think, and we are in the heart of the old village as opposed to an estate, so not too much sympathy abounds
