Google or PC problem? (Think I've solved problem)

On Friday night at midnight my Avast on my Laptop (Free for a year cover) expired. First thing yesterday morning I downloaded PANDA antivirus package which I was give to understand is extremely good and tends to "bar" cookies. I don't know if this is a coincidence or not but today Google won't allow me to get into Contacts and I urgently need to send out some circulars to Groups. I suspect it may be a Google problem because I can't get into Contacts on the PC either. This too has Panda installed but as its been on for more than 4 months very successfully and trouble free it seems more likely to be Google.
