From what I understand from newspapers, Turkey will stop Syrians, Iraqi etc people coming to Europe for 3 billion dollars and Turkish people will not need a visa for EU. Well there are over. 70,000,000 million in Turkey how is that feasible. My mind is in turmoil, EU are thinking about it. Someone give me a sensible answer please to these mad figures.

I really think that you should not continue with the turmoil in your mind....what will be will be, there is nothing you can do about these things, so just enjoy your life the best you can. Some years ago I had some training, which actually made some sense. There are certain things you can influence and some that you can not. You should only concern yourself with the small circle of things you can influence, not waste your energy trying to change things that are not within your power.......Calm, calm.......

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
Courage the things I can
And wisdom to know difference.

Understand the above. I wanted to know what others think, that was my question on figures.

I think the EU, as a whole, was totally unprepared for what was obviously a growing Refugee crisis in the making. There were plenty of warnings. Frau Merkel's "open arms" message to the "World" was premature and reckless , to the extent. that it may end her Political Career. She is finally hoping that Turkey will slow the flow of Refugees, but at what cost to the EU as a whole?
mrsgee is right, we cannot influence these major events so why worry! I do wish however, that we had a stronger and wiser Leadership in Europe.

Not I, nor did I think Enoch Powell's speech was rubbish all those years ago, Farage is the only man with vision, and no he is not racist nor am I to want to protect our communities and beliefs and put these first. Try and save what is left of our NHS which is the envy of many. Billions of £s are given to aid the starving children of the third world countries but should we not be saying to them please stop having children to see them starve. Educate them first in prevention, because as we have found out throwing money at them year after year does not work.

But conversely: "All that is needed for Evil to Triumph is for good men to do (any say?) nothing".(My addition in italics). But being concerned about what happens in my own little backyard, I do wonder if and how Cyprus figures in negotiations between Turkey and the
EU. It may be I have missed something (I am tending to go into ostrich mode on the subject) but I have seen little about Turkey's stance on reunification and do wonder if the recent rate of exchange in the TL has something to do with pressure being put on Turkey.

Nor have I said that Nigel Farage was a loony. I agree with what you are saying.

Unfortunately, throughout history, survival instinct, culture and religion have made this an almost impossible target.
Survival instinct demands many offspring to ensure survival of the race - human and animal alike. Consider how pioneer families all over the world always had large families.
Cultures around the world have looked upon large families as a way to ensure that the old people had sufficient children to care for them in their old age.
And religions? The major "successful" religions are so because more children means more upholders of the relevant faith - exactly how many have instructed their followers to NOT procreate?
I would venture to suggest that not even desperation is a really effective (voluntary or mandatory) persuasion toward birth control - rather personal greed, where (e.g. in the west) people have fewer or no children just because they don't want to end up with a lower standard of living...
Where population control has been implemented (e.g. China and India), I suspect the wealthier people found their way around restrictions....

Animals face predators - so they need to overproduce in an effort to assuage that pressure on survival
Animals can't be educated on ways to lower birthrates

Humans don't on the whole need to be concerned with predators
Humans can be educated....

Humans are the most successful predators of all - consider the history of war - especially the 20th century....

lets assume there are 70 million people in Turkey (and not 70 million million)

Some how I do not think, should they have a right to visa's for entry in to the shengen area countries, that ALL 70 million of them will instantly pack up and leave Turkey. I might be wrong but that is my best guess. So comparing the 2 million plus refugees from Syria that have already packed up and left Syria, with 70 million Turkish citizens is not to me really comparing apples with apples.

fsakkal: http://www.math.com/tables/general/numnotation.htm

Probably just emphasizing the fact there are 70 million (70,000,000) people in Turkey and not trying to make it 70 Trillion (70,000,000,000,000 or 70,000,000,000,000,000,000) at all.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.
