Dog poisoned Karsiyaka
Sad news but we need to be aware.....my husband was on his usual hike today and came across a dog dying of poison, it was too late to get help as it was in the last stages. Horrible, horrible thing to witness! There was a local lady that came to help but could do nothing apart from report it to authorities (we believe) because when my husband returned it had been removed. This was about 300 metres west of the fire look out in Karsiyaka if anyone wants to know more details please PM me.....I just want people to be vigilant if walking their dogs or especially young children playing in this area.........

Re: Dog poisoned Karsiyaka
I just cannot find the right words to express my feelings, after reading your post. Perhaps it is better that way because I more than likely would be banned from the forum! My heartfelt sympathy to anyone who was there to witness this poor dog's death. I could cry for the poor dog!
The horrific death these animals suffer is just totally heinous!
With the announcement from KAR on another post that they are not now going to be allowed to help the street dogs makes me very scared for the animals out there, through no fault of their own.
I attended the meeting about the new dog compound and it was clearly stated that nothing at all could be started till after 31st October 15, as this deadline was given for anyone to put forward advice or questions.
They wanted to start, build and finish the pound within an 18 month time scale but out here that can mean anything!
In the meantime what is going to be happening to these animals? KAR cannot help them anymore ! Is poison the answer? I pray not !

I agree and so sorry the post upset you but I know you will agree people need to know to avoid this area for their own pets sake. That said, this is an horrific death for any living creature and is unforgivable !! I have received a number of messages asking what breed of dog and we first thought it could cause heartache posting such but now want to put many minds at rest. She was a small golden retriever type dog who was either in pup or recently had pups as her teats were large and she was wearing a red collar........RIP little one!!

Re: Dog poisoned Karsiyaka
As stated in PM, Thank you whatarotty for your efforts, so sorry for the owner if they are identified
I do not have that closure yet and neither do quite a few other people I have been in touch with, who have lost their animals recently
A person who I will not identify has offered a substantial reward for her much loved missing pet, and has been ontacted already by greedy liars and chancers, disgusting

Whatever others are doing out there - we that care must carry on! I know it's hard and so easy to give up but we have got to keep on doing our bit, however small.
I look at my five, three are rescued off the streets here and I feel I am so lucky to have their love and trust!

Our feelings totally BBB's other half. There have been times this year when I wanted to run away from all of this, but then you realise that this cruelty is prevelant everywhere in the world, it' s just very covert in eg: the UK
If we can only make a small difference it has to be worth it
Bless you and your family, it really is heartwarming to read posts from caring people

This is awful, i started reading scared it may be Lucy our missing pointer. i still believe she has been taken, but theres also a possibility she is out there somewhere (and what with this thunderstorm tonight, it is eating away at me that we haven't found her after extensive searches)and it saddens me that some bumwipe can poison a dog i hope the owner is identified, it is awful having a missing pet and not knowing. RIP poor dog.

Petronemma, is your missing pointer chocolate brown, not many markings on coat and with a chain collar? I saw one in empty house garden in Karsiyaka day before yesterday. Unfortunately not seen again.

Re: Dog poisoned Karsiyaka
I was told today (on good authority) that an expat lady found a black bin liner full of rotting dead dogs on a remote Lapta beach. She was very distressed and said the smell was disgusting. She has since complained to Lapta Beleydesi who have denied all knowledge of it. Unfortunately she failed to take any photos as evidence. They have now been cemented over (coincidence?) !! Is this the future for all stray dogs in Lapta??

Re: Dog poisoned Karsiyaka
Do you know of the exact beach in lapta? also how much concrete? my dog is missing and the thought of one of those dogs being her is destroying me, i am sure there are others with missing dogs wanting some form of closure or perhaps think that maybe one of those poor little dogs in that bag are this? if i have to dig up concrete then i will. i am appalled at this news (can't type my real thoughts as will be full of profanities and not so kind words to these sick individuals that have done such an abhorrent act)

I couldn't agree more Petronemma, the way some people treat dogs is despicable, I totally understand how you & others feel about your missing dogs, it is the not knowing that eats away at you & then to hear of something so awful as this will make it all unbearable. My heart goes out to you all.
