Just acquired a new laptop, everything seems OK. Google is set for Proper English (as opposed to US, Aus, Kiwi versions now available). I google something like skyscanner and the results page comes up English however when I click the link Skyscanner is in Greek. Any suggestions please!

Thanks

If you are using "Google Chrome" as your browser, Click the 3 bars in the top right-hand side of your screen.

Go to "Settings" ... and in the Search Type Language:

The browser interface language is used for browser menus and dialogs and it's based on the language you selected when you first downloaded Google Chrome.

In Windows, follow these steps to change this setting:

Click Language and input settings to open the "Languages" dialog.
Select the language you'd like to use from the list. If the language isn't listed, first add it as one of your preferred webpage languages by clicking Add.
On the right panel, click Display Google Chrome in this language.
Restart the browser to apply the changes.

If this doesn't work let me know.

I had already completed that and in effect all that I changed was to change from English US to English UK so even before it should not have caused pages to default to greek.

PLAN B:

how are you entering the website? .. is it from Google Search. Try using 'incognito search' and type the full web address.

It may be that you are finding the website and it recognises your location as Cyprus. Although this should give you Turkish as a language, unless you are coming from Google.com/cy

Worth a try ...

If you have time, read this... one guy gets really annoyed with Google staff https://productforums.google.com/forum/ ... VE52060AOg

Frustrating, isn't it? My Gmail is set to English (UK), but still picks up words when I type that aren't US spelling.

Have you tried clicking on the 'flag / currency' icon near top right of screen ? This should let you change the default language for the skyscanner.net website I think.

Okay, got it...

as the previous post, click the flag, change all the details to English/GBP/Cyprus ...

[If it's in Greek, you need a translation, not the easiest of languages to decifer]

Then, when the NEW page loads, with the correct language, SAVE this to your Toolbar.
