I purchased a 200g bar of Cadbury chocolate today.

Display label said 9.5 lira

Was charged 16.5 lira.

So I questioned the check out lady who just shrugged her shoulders and raised it with the manager.

He was not a happy bear.

10 minutes later and an enormous que forming at the til he agreed to reduce the price to 9.5 lira.

I'm still waiting for an apology.

I think you will have a long wait Art!
You were lucky your item was actually priced - albeit wrongly.
I estimate 20% of their products are not priced up. People are continually going to the checkout girl to ask how much something is, myself included. You would think they would get the message and check that their goods are priced.
The woman in front of me last week had a tear and share brioche and when it came up as 26TL she told them where to put it:)
It's a good shop but is being let down by their pricing.

I don't believe there is a deliberate attempt to mislead anyone it's just incompetence.

My concern surrounds the way in which the manager mishandled the situation and his displeasure that he needed to put it right..I don't think he thought it was a problem.
