Onions and Tomatoes A Bit Rough.

I know its only the time of year and veggies, salad ,fruit is meant to be seasonable, but having a hard time to find decent onions, the taste is still there but so much waste. Missing the tasty summer tomatoes. We adore the tomatoes here. Our friends who are over from Belgium with us commented on the veg last night we cooked ,especially the carrots cauliflower and greens.

I agree : I have been very disappointed in all the veg in the shop recently . A definite decrease in standard. I dont know why , perhaps they are growing fewer locally and importing more from Turkey and consequently less fresh.

I grow my own tomatos - it dead easy and you can buy plants cheaply if you dont want to bother growing from seed, but of course they are over now and I only have a couple of packs of home made soup to remember them by!
