Earthworms?

Earthworms?
I am not much of gardener but I have dug a few holes for green things the wife's bought but I have never seen an earthworm whilst digging. Do they have earthworms here?
As I got older I congratulated myself on my tolerance..... Now I realise I just don't give a "ooops"

Interesting observation, and come to think of it I have never seen one either. I wonder if it is because at the depths you would garden to here, it is often too dry for worms and they would dehydrate and die, that said, no shortage of slugs, and I have even heard frogs in the ravine next too use when it has been rainy enough to flow water.
Also in the Troodos it is wet year round.

They are hiding quite deep,about 2 ft....they will come nearer the surface when they hear the rain............................
