dog run over in Lapta
At approx 4pm today (Friday) we saw a Cypriot/Turkish guy run over a light beige coloured dog on the coast road between Hos Hes Market and the Wild Duck. The dog had a curly coat and was wearing a blue collar.
The driver, having run the dog over, stopped his car, went back to examine the dog and then left it in the middle of the road so it could be flattened by the traffic. We moved the dog to the mountain side of the road and confirmed it was definitely dead.
If anyone is missing a dog of this description you might find this post helpful.

Re: dog run over in Lapta
I think this might be the little dog that has been hanging out at the Pet Stop.........
I visited Pet Stop today and this little dog is still living round the back of the shop. He is a very friendly sweet boy approx age 2 years old. He seems to have been clipped quite recently although he is a little grubby and dirty now. The sparkly collar he has on was given by the pet shop.
This lovely little guy has been dumped behind Pet Stop pet shop! He's not very old and very friendly, he's wearing a light blue collar. Does anyone recognise him or would anyone like to offer him a home?

Hi Cally
my wife actually moved the dog from the road but thinks it could be the same. She thinks the dog may have been female. We are driving past where we left the dog and if it is still there will have a good look and report back.

Sorry but went back to the scene and there is no trace of the dog's body.

Thank you so much for checking, is that strange for a body to disappear or is it a case of "recycling"

Suspect the Beled. took it away. Rest assured that the dog didn't 'come round' and limp off to die slowly. We have had dogs for many years and I know when one has gone. There was no doubt.

I never doubted for one minute that the poor dog wasn't dead, just never crossed my mind that the Bele would remove it.

Very unlikely it's the dog behind the pet shop as that's in Girne and The Wild Duck is in Lapta.
Also the dog behind the pet shop is tied up for its own safety.
