Mummmmmmmmmmmmmm taste buds tingling
Well after seeing an earlier post about Chicken Madras Pasties had to go and investigate...........well Kibkom members all I can say is ................what a sensation to the taste buds..........my mouth was watering before I got home with the sweet aroma of spices that filled my car.....forget about putting rice or chips with this pastie it's another meal in itself, also had to try the sausage rolls..............delicious, flaky pastry and PROPER SAUSAGES............not those horrible franfurter ones................well done again

Went in today at 12.30 and absolutely everything savoury was sold out. I love the place and it shows just how popular it is but, as he agrees, he's going to have to produce more savouries to satisfy people who can't get there by 11.30 or 12 at the latest!! Shows he's doing 99% right doesn't it?

Sophie, I was there before 10am this morning and everything was still warm out of the oven, but do what I did the other week, place an order to pick up later at a time convenient to you, they are very happy to oblige

Re: Mummmmmmmmmmmmmm taste buds tingling
We thought sausage rolls not as good as last week don't get me wrong not complaining but last weeks were hand crafted sausage meat they scored 15 out of 10, yesterday was more like a basic sausage, still OK 8 out of 10. The pasties are the best we have ever tasted. The Cornish well you can almost hear the seagulls the Curry are almost identical to the Curry we used to eat at Esentepe Villa Hotel about 4 years ago. That was cooked by an award winning English Chef and his wife. We put 2 pasties in the freezer and ate them last night very welcome after a few Martinis and some Bourbon. They defrosted perfectly and microwaved well.

Just had a couple sausage rolls and have to say was really disappointed, the filling looked and tasted like the pepperoni sticks you get in the green foil pack.I so wanted them to be good as I do like a sausage roll(with lots of brown sauce),perhaps just a blip.

He's not going to be able to please all of the people all of the time, but I think you'll agree he's making a pretty good stab at it, all the same.

Re: Mummmmmmmmmmmmmm taste buds tingling
I agree but you don't expect to find pepperami in a sausage roll and as a master baker he should know that, reading the posts it appears that there have been three different fillings in the space of a couple of weeks and that's not good.As I stated before I do so want them to be good as savoury pastries are one of my weakness's so good luck to them and let's hope things improve.

I bought 2 pastries this morning and the fillings were different from before. Ali is experimenting to see what is most popular. The Cornish pasties are 100%, imo.

Maud Dib. what you bought i think are not sausage rolls, that is the Cypriot (like you say frankfurter in flaky pastry ) and I agree they are not good. The real sausage rolls tend to sell out early.

My husband ordered by phone the day before and went across and picked up the order. I think the curry houses here could learn a lot from the the Chef who makes the curry pastys. 0533 857 8085 bakeshopanddeli@hotmail.com

Re: Mummmmmmmmmmmmmm taste buds tingling
Just a tiny crack in the armour? Bread great (sadly don't eat it myself any longer) but the vegetable pastie purchased today was lacking in vegetables and the slice of home made cheese cake was miniscule compared to the last two weeks. I did suggest much earlier on when he first opened that maybe he could buy one of those cutters that you press down so that all slices are identical in size. I do hope this is just a bit of a blip! Going in the shop if you are trying to loose a few pounds is a nightmare.
