Kibtek Call out
As they get a lot of bad press I am very impressed with how quickly they came out once a problem was reported to them
Last week I inquired where to report the wires which lead to our house as they were tangled up in the telephone wires plus they were able to touch in bad weather. On Friday I called into the offices near the Wednesday market around 10am where they took all my details. Within 10 minutes they were on the phone saying they would be at the house in 15 minutes, one hour later the job was finished and we were able to relax on Saturday when the wind and rain came.
Big thank you to KIBTEK.

This post must be a wind up,this must be one of the worst utility companies on the planet they just do not know how to supply a service or even bill customers for a supply that they say they give. Now we have new meters, they can"t even get that right, you fill in paperwork,a complete waste of time they take no notice they then tell you to fill it in again no notice,I have filled in paperwork for five properties and am just wasting my time, don"t ever tell me how good Kibtec is they are Ooops.

But they do seem to have a good maintenance team as they keep the ooops system runningLeither wrote:This post must be a wind up they just do not know how to supply a service or even bill customers for a supply that they say they give..
Maybe I should of been more clear in my first posting but after a fire in the meter box and now this I can not fault this part of the Kibtek team.

Re: Kibtek Call out
We lived without electricity for 15 months, (Not Kibtecs fault) I think Kibtec do a grand job at the end of the day this is not the UK, weather conditions are extreme. Things are different.
But my god we realised after not having electricity how marvelous, convenient and cheap it actually is. Try making your own. Brings you to your senses.
Also maybe we are some of the lucky ones but I am finding their new billing system no problem.

From personal experience (so far!!)we have found the maintenance guys wonderful, no problems with billing (so far!!) and like Johnny Lee we were without electricity for 13 months, throughout the winter and thought that someone was going to find us dead with hypothermia. On the day we were connected I went rushing from room to room switching things off and on. The blokes thought I had completely lost it!! Had to pay 1200 pounds for a pole and connection (not the fault of Kibtek) and even that, when it happened went smoothly.

Leither.
(Johnny with respect who the hell do you think put the electric system into this country)
This was done by the Turkish Cypriots, they built and installed the plant, I have a very good friend who is one of the chief engineers at Kibtek. They face a lot of problems from the Government and other places like hotels, who do not pay their bills, but get away with it.
If you lived here in the late 80s you will remember 17 hour power cuts. As a poster has put try living with a generator it will cost you twice as much.
As for getting a bill without a smart phone it seems you will have to go to the office and check, most of us use a smart phone for reasons like this.

Sophie you got off Light (pardon the pun), ours was 17 K 11 posts etc. But it was a fantastic learning curve being without it. We also still get a paper bill in our box and notified by text.
Leither I do not have a clue who put the system in to the TRNC. Just simply commenting on our experience. Hope your bills get sorted soon.

3 months of text and email bill, last Tuesday I was cleaning my windows at the front of the villa and a man appeared said good morning I replied, he read our meter and handed me a paper bill. I was so surprised never thought to ask why.
Will await next month to see whether we get email, text or paper bill

Maybe the meter reader after 3 months realises they maybe surplus to the kibtek authority, I must stop being cynical but after CTA what are they going to do with all the staffDeniz1 wrote:slightly off topic after three months with none, today i received a paper bill as did my neighbour. i havnt registered to get one so why the change suddenly?
