funeral monday 8.2.16
Sad news is that Brian Hill died in the Lefkosa State Hospital this week, the funeral will take place at Green Hill Cemetery on Monday 8.2.16 at 11am.
Brian had lived in North Cyprus for around 30 years. He had been a steward for BA, came here and co-owned the Abbey Restaurant in Bellapais with his partner Graham. He worked at a video shop in Girne and as a bar manager for Steve at Liaisons and Rumours Bars in Ozankoy. More recently he had been working at KAR kennels.
He will be sadly missed for his great and wicked sense of humour. He wanted bright colours to be worn at the funeral and donations instead of flowers.

Just read sad news of Brian's death. What a character he was and had some wonderful times with Graham and himself at Abbey House. He was a true character. RIP dear Brian. Will not be returning until day after funeral but will be thinking of you all, sure will be a great send off.

R.I.P Brian, Many a happy time at the renowned Abbey House restaurant, you had to go in person to book a table so you could be vetted, until you were approved as worthy to dine there!!!!My favourite restaurant, so sad when it closed. Where is Graham there days?

I Have known Brian since 1983 when we used to party in Bellapais with the UN. Since then we have been friends and had the odd drink together now and again.
It is a sad loss to the TRNC. He has been about town for so many years, with is fantastic humour, dry but far.
R.I.P. Brian you will be missed.

Sad to hear.... A true local character.
Ps Wear something bright, that's definitely Brian ... Ps suprised he didn't ask for string quartet and the London male voice choir.. (If you knew Brian, you'd understand the humour) ... RIP.

Four days before he died there was a very sick, comatose man in the next bed. Brian said to me " if he dies tonight I'll have his socks".
