Sorry I have deleted the number but I was given it by Pertev the vet in Girne, so try him if no other reply

Re: bird of prey
Thanks. I have tried pertev but no answer. I called petcross and they gave me a number but it's no longer valid. Am desperate for a valid number if anyone has it. We have an eagle with a broken wing and want it to receive attention before it dies.

Try the search post in 'pets and animals' above for ? Muscar (I think). This organisation is dedicated to the preservation of wild birds here and there are contact details.

Re: bird of prey
I have just noticed the Kuskor site has a specific section for people to use to "REPORT AN INJURED BIRD" via which is here
http://www.kuskor.org/report.html
always up for helping an injured bird or helping others to help such if I can.
Speaking of birds and cyprus can I use this thread to encourage people to sign the online petition here

hmm - looks like I just did.

Re: bird of prey
Thank you for the contacts. I spoke to Damla at Kuskor who was very helpful and gave me some tips on how to care for it over night. Fortunatley i didnt have to do that as the bird has actually been collected by a lovely prof at Near East Vet Dept who will take it there in the morning. It was actually a buzzard.. (we obviously don't know our birds of prey!) Fingers crossed it makes it.

Well done, indeed!
Thanks in anticipation of you keeping us informed as to the buzzard's progress - I, for one, hope you will!

Re: bird of prey
Update on the progress of this buzzard - Wayne Fuller collected it and took it to NEU's veterinary department which deals with injured wild animals. It does not have a broken wing - but it couldn't fly because if has parasitic condition of its blood. This is being treated by the vets there and should make a full recovery if the condition can be eradicated but as you can imagine this is not an easy process... let's all hope this beautiful bird can be saved.
