I am confused. State schools in the TRNC are not 'local English state schools' they are TRNC. There are private schools teaching in English as a first language. Expat communities exist in most major towns and their environs.

I too was a little confused and was tempted to suggest 'St Albans' as a possible place but decided that the nuance of both confusion and attempted humour that such a reply was intended to convey probably would not come across in plain text. So I didn't. But now I have. Oh this gets so confusing.

Hi there, I've been told that there are several Turkish state schools that teach primarily in English. Türk Maarif Koleji being one that was recently recommended.

If you have been told this, might I suggest a direct approach to the TRNC (not Turkish) Dept of Education? You will then have fact and the current state of affairs. You can also seek area information and the type of school suitable for the ages(?) of your children.

I dont know much about the subject so should probably shut up. But basing on the experience of a friend a while ago I suggest you also check which curriculum the schools teach as well as language. I dont think any TRNC State schools teach a curriculum which will prepare children to pass GCSEs or other UK accepted examinations. I am not sure about private schools but it is important enough for your childrens' future if they might want to return to and work in the UK to make absolutely sure and get official confirmation of what education is available before making any commitments.

If you are thinking about moving to the TRNC I suggest you also investigate availability cost and proximity of transport and medical, bearing in mind no NHS here.
