question - How often does this occur?
For sinus or Asthma sufferers - What is it like living in North Cyprus in general for asthma and sinuses?

crystalarts, generally, I find the climate here much better for my asthma than UK. Have only had one serious asthma attack in 7 years living here, and that was just over a year ago when we had bad dust clouds. Quick trip down to Girne state hospital put me right though. Cannot praise them enough. They were totally efficient, took me straight in for treatment and a couple of hours later I was home again. Having experienced a number of serious attacks in UK I know what treatment is needed and they provided it all, for 10 lira! I do find that this time of year, with the blossoms and pollen, alergies can be worse but I use nasal sprays anyway.

Thanks a lot for your input! that helps us with our decision making a lot with regards to buying a holiday home there (which we will probably spend 3 months a year in) as my wife suffers from sinus and asthma issues which were awful in the Middle East when we were living there.

Re: More dust clouds expected
crystalarts, no problem. I think that the key is to understand what triggers off the attacks, for me it is normally sudden changes in temperature,or dampness, which is why I am better here than in UK, and avoid being outside when the dustclouds arrive here. We had awful ones last September for almost a week, but fortunately, I happened to be in Turkey. Also, I make sure that I take my preventors religiously every day. If I feel that I may have an attack, I start a short course of steroids and I have a nebuliser to hand.
Johnny1, the spray I use is becotide, steroid inhaler. It has to be used every day to keep up the protection, bit like the steroid inhalers I use for my asthma.
