What a rip off.

TL150 paid weeks ago.

Turned up late................par for TRNC.............

Supposed to be all inclusive.........got into dinner late........yes the man himself was there.............and said hi......water was served..........then EVENTUALLY were some drinks...............very slow service...............

Before all the courses were served we were ushered into the main hall where we thought the free drinks were continued ............it was only 9.15.................wrong.............drinks chargable..............

Only half the advertised support acts were there...............then when the man himself turned up on stage ..............he was only there for half an hour.................

It had to be the quickest GOODNIGHT folks I have EVER seen.

I`m sorry who ever organised this, you will only rip me off once like this.................and outside having a siggy they said....it was the hotel not us...........Hmmmmmmm.

I met someone today who expressed tgheir disappointment at the only 30 minuteson stage, and no real supporting acts. I wonder if anyone will post on here as to what happened. sounds a lot of expenditure to be disappointed.

hi i complained too, and it deffinately wasn't the hotel, it was down to the organisers.
apparently this was their first gig, and the first time they had bought someone famous over.

i wasn't there for the dinner but i was also disapointed at such a short show.

Andrew, there were a lot of people there, all ready and rearing to have a fabulous evening, but it didn't happen.
We didn't eat there, but waited about half an hour for a drink, not a great problem there, but when we received our order....
50tl for a bottle of vino...the cheapest wine you could possible purchase, (I wouldn't put it on chips) I think you pay about 4 Lira for a carton in the supermarket.
I thought this was insulting to be honest, VIP tickets....The Acupulco hotel......WHY would they serve up a rubbish wine in such a nice establishment???, I would have rather paid more for a decent'ish wine, than be insulted being served that rubbish. Ulcers waiting to happen.
Babouska were very good, I thought. I was very dissapointed with Alexander O'neil, I think he managed to perform about four numbers. Not even a sign of an encour, he just said goodnight and left the stage.
After that I believed there was going to be a soul disco, no, it was all that thumping music.
Well, we sat outside and waited for the bus home.
I did find a hotel representative and spoke to her. She told me it was nothing to do with them, but the organisers. We did get a receipt for our drinks , an Acupulco receipt, the wine was described as Don Simon.
I do feel for the people who sold the tickets all in good faith, as they believed it was going to be an evening of extravaganza, with all the supporting acts.
As I said, it didn't happen.

We had thought about going there for Christmas, but I don't think that's going to happen either.

There were a number of people there like us for the dinner. The tables had approx 8 each .Think there were about 8 tables, stand to be corrected on that. But before we had our last course the woman who seemed to be organising it said " oh well they had 2 hours, I`ll get dessert sent up". Which we didn`t.This was about 9ish and most of the people on our table were not forum people and they asked me to post.
One of them had 2 friends who were visitors and they got drinks from the bar in the concert room thinking they were still free. Then one of the waiters came up and asked if they had paid . They said they understood it was all inclusive....a few words were said and the man took the drinks back.
Can`t speak for everyone there but certainly all on our table of 8 were not happy bunnies.
There were some cards on the table with Scot n Turkz ltd on , and it says they have a facebook page. It says on the card they do all aspects of entertainment but not sure if they organised this event.

I have just looked at the Facebook page for this company and the video advertising the event. It looks spectacular. However, I think somewhere along the line I must have ended up at the wrong venue, because this was certainly nothing like my evening. Dinner was not good and no dessert arrived at any point. Struggled to get any included drinks. Alexander O'Neill was good but only about half hour on stage and don't be fooled by the video on the facebook page because he is an old and quite sick looking man now. Babutsa were very good. As to the after party it was just the sax player and a DJ, a DJ that didn't even open his mouth to say anything at any point. What happened to the fire dancers and the razzamatazz that we were led to expect?!! If I had paid 25tl and just had Babutsa play I would have been happier. A lot of money paid for an event that didn't deliver.

Deniz1 I won`t be rushing to anytime soon.

The last big bash we went to was Dionne Warwick at the Rocks couple of years ago. That was TL200.00
And that was all inclusive . Talk about chalk and cheese. All the courses were buffet.....but what buffets,........the food was superb. Even my better half who does not like seafood said the buffet looked fabulous. Plus the drinks flowed ALL night and included imported brands , not just local.

And the setting looking out to the harbour was second to none whereas Alexander O`neil function was second rate.

Hasten to add we don`t go out often and treat these occasions as a special treat.

in reply to all your comments, the problems you had are with acapulco we tried our best to resolve them, we advertised babutsa and alexander o neal and thats what you got, we tried to bring a legend over, however he does not do meet and greets or sign autographs however we got him to do that, if you see the pictures you will see that a legend from the past came to north cyprus, who can say that they partied with alexander o neal?, well done to babutsa but all i can say is acapulco were hard work from the start, all i can say is sorry if u had a bad night but we tried our best to bring a legend over to please everyone

Maybe there would be less disappointment if people were made aware what to expect. One normally expects 'legends' to do two stints - half an hour (or maybe less) in the first half, and the grand finale of 30-40 minutes at the end. Maybe people were expecting too much. And of course if they feel let down and too disappointed, they will be less wary of booking another event and then everyone suffers.

Sorry for those who had the disappointment of an underwhelming event having paid dearly for it. Legend ? Perhaps the small print said "leg end" ie end it quickly, then leg it.
"profound ? A bird can sing with a broken wing, but, one can't pluck feathers off a frog!

Teddy we did not get what was advertised. Yes we got Alexander O'Neill (although we could have been told beforehand that he would do such a short set), Babutsa were great. However, all the advertising says and I quote 'After all the nostalgia is over, Londons very own ?GLAMAFUNK? will get to the decks to really get the crowd moving with a whole night of garage music, bongos, showgirls, lasers and fire, fire, fire!!! '. There was music and bongos, and 2 uninspiring dancers, but what happened to all the lasers and fire dancers, etc? We were expecting something spectacular as advertised, what we got was virtually a school disco. As to the meal, I will concede this was down to the Acapulco and it has made sure I will never go there for dinner again.

Wouldn't know A.O. if I fell over him, but I've spoken to two people now who felt that someone should tell him to retire before he becomes and embarrssment to himself. as per McCarthy, Cliff Richard and all the others who can't cut the mustard anly longer.

I have just been speaking to a very dear friend of mine who is in UK, apparantly Alexander O'Neil did exactly the same at the Ivory rooms in Billericay. Therefore, I think the blame for this has to be the ''The Legend'', not the booking agent.
