Lifting large water bottles onto water coolers

I note from other threads that Troodos Su and Cemersu sell large bottles of water for coolers.

Problem is, I won't be able to lift them onto the cooler myself! I tried last time I was there and could not manage it.

Will Troodos Su / Cemersu deliver the bottles and place them on the cooler? If not, are there any suppliers that will do this? I would of course expect to pay extra for that service.

Had a similar problem with the bottles and cured it by buying a new water cooler - the type that takes the bottle in the bottom of the cooler and allows you to just shove it inside. One of the best purchases I have made here - worth a thought!!

For the cooler in my rental house, you have to lift the water bottle, turn it upside down, and put it on top of the cooler.

However, thanks for the suggestion, Waddo. I will buy a bottom-loading cooler if there is no other way. Do you remember where you bought yours?

bought ours from Halos in Karakum but I have seen then in Tunc in Catalkoy. Mine, a fugi, cost 600Tl so not cheap though but very good.

Got ours from the Bosch shop opposite where Mr Pound used to be - can't remember how much it was but it was expensive! They have become cheaper over the past year as they became more popular but they are worth it (to us) for whatever the price, no more "hit and miss" getting the bottle on properly and no more catching my fingers under the bottle either!

Take an empty bottle and cut a small hole in the top, big enough to fit a hose from a small hand water pump, and the right size for something to plug the hole with..
Buy a small hand pump for the 19l bottle and use it to pump the eater from the one on the floor into the bottle on the machine.
You will still have to maneuver the bottle close to the machine, but not have to lift it.

Brian, I don’t think that will work.
The bottle on top of the cooler should seal so that there is a vacuum is formed. Having placed a full bottle with a small hold on to the cooler all 19 l flowed out.

Luckily I have a drinking water tap I fill empty bottles and keep them in the fridge so my water cooler is redundant now.i used too struggle with the bottles too had to lift in 2 stages once onto a chair then onto the machine.

Just been to a tile place, in the office they had a large bottle on the floor, on top was a plastic top with a clear pipe going into the bottle, looks like you press the plastic top and hey ho it dispenses the water.

Yes, good point - they do sell those at most supermarkets.

There is also a company called Aki (no dot on the i) Su based in Girne that sell water in bags rather than bottles for water dispensers. I haven't used them personally but a friend of mine does. It might be worth inquiring how their system works - their phone number is on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/kibrisakisu/?fref=ts It hasn't been updated in a while but I saw their van out and about this afternoon which reminded me of the company's name!

I have a tap in my kitchen connected directly to the mains water not from the tank. The water is good.
