Went to Budapest last August, marvellous place but hotels near the City are expensive. We stayed in a Ibis Hotel in the "Pest" side of the city it was about fifty pounds a room per night and was 5 mins away from The Centre in a Taxi. A very very lively Historic City will be back soon.

Went to Bulgaria this time last year. Very enjoyable. Would recommend Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnova. Good quality hotels and very reasonably priced, as was eating out.
