I have been told that the UBP party has withdrawn from the coalition in a row over the Financial Agreement with Turkey. The government cannot pay salaries this month. Ministers will resign tomorrow and a date will be set for new elections.

I have no confirmation of this - I would be interested if antone else has heard about it.

Perhaps part of the issue related to the 13th Month Salary agreements. I think maybe someone is throwing toys out of the pram in a big way. Watch this space.

Nothing too much to worry about, UK's been bankrupt for ages and they're just printing more money. Economics was never a strong point for me.

The thirteen month payment is because everyone only gets their pensions or government wages paid at the end of every calender month here. If you check your own British pension from UK you will see it is paid every 28 days. So the thirteenth payment is to make up the shortfall they are owing.

Don't know about you but my UK state pension is paid into my UK bank every Friday. Why wait 28 days?

UK pension is paid every 28 days so the payday is different every month so you get 13 payments per annum.
52 weeks ~ 4 weeks = 13 payments.

If the UK pension - I suppose you mean the State Pension - is paid every 28 days, why are you offered the choice of fortnightly payments as well? I elected to be paid every two weeks when I came of age and true to the UK pensions department excellent service my pension is paid into my UK bank account very promptly - every 28 days!!!
