Traffic holdup
Does anyone know what the problem was with the traffic this morning going from Lapta to Girne.

Yes - too many cars....janmag wrote:Does anyone know what the problem was with the traffic this morning going from Lapta to Girne.
We 'lived' in Alsancak for 13 months and could not stand the long slow crawl of traffic from west to east in the mornings...
Some drivers (who no doubt think they are blood relations of Lewis Hamilton) get so frustrated (and consider themselves far too important to remain in a queue like everyone else) overtake the long line of cars and force themselves back in - cutting up several drivers in the process when, at the last second before they hit an oncoming car, they rejoin the slow drag.... which in turn causes a tailback.
I lost count of the number of occasions when this occurred... Bar stewards!

Re: Traffic holdup
I was turning right from the Merit junction earlier, so not even wanting to get in the line and 3 'special needs' were very insistent I didn't get across the line of traffic and hold them up for about 2 seconds whilst the traffic wasn't even moving.
At least the dolmus driver realised I wasn't going to hold him up by a nano-second and let me across.

The wife keeps complaining I never listen to a word she says ............. or something like that.

Cars slowing down for road that was dug up last week for electric work, now has large rut. Amazing that the locals slow down.
