Everybody is open along the Karpaz peninsula and look forward to seeing you.

The next hearing for the guys is on 6th April and hopefully it will have a positive outcome and not like the last couple of times when in the usual Cyprus way, it got postponed to a later date. Burhan and Teko are not having a good time in prison, side by side to a child molester ( who got the same sentence!!!!) We have not been able to see Burhan but we were able to see Teko outside the Iskele court. He looked so small and sad.

It's the families, who are depending on the income, who are keeping the businesses open!!!

One thing we are all totally certain of, that even if all the bungalows and restaurants were totally removed and all brought back to how it was in the 80's, it will take no time at all for some new development to pop up, even if the island were to unite(ooohps the goes a pig flying by !!!

Next time it will not be as idyllic, the big boys are eyeing it!!! There are people looking!!!!!!

Today was the hearing for the two guys sent to prison for three and a half years for building too many wooden bungalows on the Karpaz peninsula put in typical Cyprus fashion, guess what - It's been postponed again and the new hearing will be on 13th April so frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the update. Was talking about that today in relation to a wedding. Whatever the rights and wrong,s it must be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrating with these constant postponements, although someone said a while back that the system doe snot have enough courts and judges for hearings to be carried out on set dates.
Look forward to hearing more next week.

...And in just about 72 hours, I'll be there!
Not in the Karpaz; over at Karsiyaka - but still over there!

In Dipkarpaz overnight and talking to the hotel owner, who perhaps should be nameless, is certain that big business is behind this. Big development almost certain. If so how sad for this unspoiled part of the coast.

Pretty obvious really. But how sad is it also for the guys involved.

I hate the corruption in that place.

Burhan and Teko were freed on 20.04. but still were told they have to pull everything down and remove all within 2 month or the bulldozers will come and do it!!! . They haven't given up entirely, but................................

The other 10 businesses have there hearing on 28/29.04.

Good news at last. But still no justice.
