Kibtek bills

I have just received an email and simultaneous text message from Kibtek dated 22/4/16 with a request for a payment. I just checked and my last bill was on the 30/3/16. What are they playing at? Is this a ruse to get 14 or 15 standing charges paid per year rather than 12?

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Their systems seem very haphazard at present. I failed to receive any bill for March but in April received a bill including a penalty for the March bill which I had never received.

I registered with Kibtek last September (new connection), received one bill by email 26 February, none further until I visited Kibtek office a few days ago and gave them my email address (again) - just got my bill today!

I also received my bill today by email. The previous one was 30/03. Is there a bayram coming up?

There's a Bayram tomorrow (Saturday), but I don't see how that can be any problem. It's International Children's Day I think.

The last day for payment of our last bill was 27/4, yet on 20/4 we got a new bill, the final date for payment on that one is 20/5, since when did we get bills 23 days apart ?

Come on - what's all the fuss about?
My SMS's say quite clearly:
March bill as of 30 March due for payment 29 April
April bill as of 22 April due for payment 23 May.

No problem.

I just checked my bill, bill date 20/4 payment date 20/5.............I know on the old system it was the 26th of the month for my bills but now they are online I can see that things have changed but that's probably because the poor bloke on the scooter took longer to get round.
Give it a chance and then see how it all works out.

Totally agree PaulW, we have no problem with our SMS & e-mail bills. I think the dates depend on what date of the month that digital meters were installed.

I'm now creating an Excel worksheet to record and analyse my bills; the only problem at the moment is finding the daily amount for standing charges, street lighting, and any other sundry items they may care to throw in....
The charges for the first so many Kw used is available, though whether that is correct is anybody's guess.....

I thought it had settled down - that's my point! When they first started the new system I got bills for part months, I thought OK they are bringing everyone into line. I used to get a regular paper bill on or around the 26th of every month. Now I have no idea what their system is, if they have one. I don't have a problem if it is just one bill a month, with the standard charges including street lighting but I just find it unsettling with the timing being so haphazard. I thought it was all about making things simpler.

My son registered his details when first requested. We received our last bill in January,--nothing since, no bill, no text (as requested originally), so went into a local Bank. They told us immediately how much is owing, so we'll just pay there monthly. Hardly what we'd expected, but then this is N.Cyprus!!

Register your Kibtec account, with your TRNC bank. For direct debit payment. They then pay it 1 day before due date. 'Simples' no problem. Amount appears on your statement

İ was in my bank doing Direct Debit, and as the teller knows I am a Turkish learner,he corrected my pronounciation of Kıbtec.A small pedantic point but the Kıbtec 'ı' has no dot, unlike the 'Kibkom'. So should be pronounced as 'Kubtec'......that's the end of Turkish lesson for the day !!!İt won't make bills cheaper !!!!!

...and is the 'c' at the end pronounced 'dj' ? - or is it anglicised, as in the English 'Tech' ?

I'm trying to do the same and have managed most of the line items but can't for the life of me find out how the street lighting charge is calculated

[Edited to add: or the standing charge ]

The Kıbtek website shows the current tarrifs and I see that Sokak ışıkları is now at a rate of 0.435 (down from 0.45 as from 1st April when all the rates went down). But 0.435 times what? It doesn't seem to be usage in kWs looking at my bills.

Any ideas?

As far as I know, the street lighting charge is a flat rate - I believe that the same TL amount is added to every bill...

...unless anyone knows better!

Doesn't seem to be any consistency or pattern to any of the charges - look at my latest bill (pdf) - I appear to be on Tariff 02 (konut tarifesi/residential tariff), which for my usage more or less matches the charges per KW listed under Yeni Tarife Ücretleri (Kibtek site).
However, as to the rest - Maktu Ükret/Fixed Price (Standing charge?), 18.67 this bill (32 days), 13.42 last bill (28 days);
and Sokak Isiklari - on mine, Sokak Aydinlatma ("Street Light"/"Street Lighting") 9.13 this bill, 6.87 last bill...... so neither of these are a "flat rate per day"....
I've tried to find matches in ratios of usage/days/net price -anything I can think of, but no correlation anywhere...
Perhaps, over a long enough time, something may appear....

I think that perhaps I should have said " I believe that the same TL amount is added to everybody's bill.." - I didn't mean that it is the same amount each month...

I've no idea how they decide on the amount! - and I have spent many a happy hour dissecting bills!

I have a Direct Debit set up with Near East Bank to pay my monthly water, electricity and phone bills. Never had a problem with payment of any bills, and when I do check my bills against the bank statements they have always been correct. In addition, no queuing in town to pay bills, and I do not have to worry when I go away, as I know that any outstanding bills will be paid as and when they become due.
