We have a memory foam mattress protector which is brilliant in winter but in the summer it is very warm so I am thinking of buying an ordinary one for the summer and using the memory foam in the winter. Just for your info.

I can confirm that; at home in the UK we have a memory foam mattress and son has a memfoam protector - in the UK "summer", definitely too warm....
