Would you believe it, I spoke to someone this morning who have a place out here. I asked if they were thinking of moving to TRNC permanently. The answer nearly floored me. "Its so boring, there is nothing to do"!!! She should take a look at my diary - it took 6 weeks to find enough time to visit the hairdresser for a cut.

Sophie, I can not beleive people who say they are bored. I think it says a great deal about a person. I wish I has time to get bored. Virtually every minute is accounted for .

Boredom is a state of mind. There is so so much to do if you are self motivated. But I have also heard many people say they are bored. Such a waste.

When I was a child and complained I was bored, my Dear, departed Dad used to say to me "You're not bored -you are boring!"
How true that was!
As an adult living in the TRNC, there are never enough hours in the day to do all the things I want to. I lead a very full, interesting and rewarding life. I honestly think there are so many opportunities here to learn new skills, take up hobbies that you never had time to do while working in the UK. I think people who complain about having nothing to do, clearly have no get up and go. Why don't they do some volunteer work? The charity shops here are crying out for helpers. Could it be that they are just plain lazy?

So what sort of things do you ladies do? It would be great to know what's going on in the TRNC besides local bars, live music, holiday villages, and Lambousa market. What are you up to, what kind of hobbies, groups, meetings, activities? Please share the info!
Never stand on the wrong side of small-minded people with a little power.

Monday, girlies day, Tuesday am body pump, Wednesday Girne shopping, and everything else while we are there, then lunch, back home around 3pm,
Thursday am body pump, and we say we never have time to enjoy the beautiful beaches here, so now making the effort to go on a Thursday afternoon,
Friday am body pump and Friday pm work in a charity shop, Saturday, cleaning day, Sunday, a drive out to lunch somewhere with friends, plus walking our dog morning and tea time everyday, and inbetween I am catching up with emails and skype calls to my friends and family, oh, and my girlie friends, body pump friends, and charity shop friends usually end up inviting me and my hubby, or not, to celebrate a birthday, or just a get together somewhere different, it is rare I have a minute to sit in the garden to sit and read my book. My life is certainly very full.
