Re: Passport photo
YUCEL - large photographic shop on the road to HSBC bank. They will ask you which passport type of photo you need and ensure that the details are correct. They also do photos for the Turkish driving licence which is a different requirement.

Re: Passport photo
Yucel is fine IF you are close to Girne. Another Girne photographic outlet is located close to Girne Belidyse, opposite the main car park near the book shop. However, if you live on either the far east or west coasts or Lefkosa, Girne outlets are of limited value as a recommendation.

Re: Passport photo
There is a good little shop near the Venetian Palace in Famagusta Old Town, next to a cafe. Quick service and reasonable prices.

Muffin1 What is the different requirement for a Turkish Driving Licence. Would a passport type photo not be ok?

Re: Passport photo
All the photography shops here would be able to take the appropriate photos but it's important you tell them what the photos are for. We have 'pul' photos which are tiny and 'vesikalli' which are similar to uk passport but not exactly the same size. Also there are larger 'biometric ' ones for the kimlik kart.

The size requirement for the Turkish Driving Licence is different from a passport photo.

From the Roundabout, go down the Road (Ziya Rızkı Caddesi) passing the HSBC, and Yucel is a little way further along on your left hand side. The name is in VERY large letters!Bluebell04 wrote:Hi Keith looking for Yucel near HSBC roundabout Girne, where are the shops located please. Many thanks.

Re: Passport photo
I don't know whether they still do it, but when I had my last passport 'photo done there, they also produced a small Portrait style photo for me, free of charge, it was so heavily 'photoshopped' that I ended up looking quite presentable - even my mother wouldn't have recognised me! I was trying not to smile, as I thought that he was still doing the passport one - hence the rather strange look ( I do normally look 'strange' anyway, but this was a different sort of strange )Bluebell04 wrote:Thanks very much Keith, off now to get my mug shot ho ho ho,
