Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
The last time we ordered gas it was delivered and nothing was said about a permit, then a couple of weeks later there was a notice in our post box to say we had to have a gas tank permit. I presume that Intergas pass on your information after they've supplied the gas, it wasn't too difficult to get our permit though.

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
I've not had a permit since our tank was installed in 2006. Applied last February (2015) after receiving an official notice telling us we had to get one. Filled in forms, got the extinguisher (as you do!), had the visit from Fireman Semih, then waited and waited and waited. A few weeks ago I went into the office in Girne to ask what had happened to our application as we were told they would write to us. The lovely guy in there said that they wrote to us last August (2015), saying the permit was ready. I said "Oh!" He said don't worry I can give you this year's and last years, which he did - about 114TL in total I think. No mention of any fine, I paid, shook his hand and orf I went. Gas tank is still half full, last refill was about 4 years ago, but we'll probably fill her up in the Autumn. He did say we need to apply for next year's in December, which we will.

The district office on the way into town. The one that shares the car park with the Tapu. The district office is the one at the front and the gas permit office is to the left on the ground floor. Not sure if costs have risen since we renewed ours in January but we only paid 35 or 36 TL for it. So not sure how frontalman had to pay 114 TL.

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
We are with Jetgaz and just going through process...very nice young man from there actually picked up gas bottle in Lefkosia and brought it with him to our house in Ozankoy with receipt...think it was 90tl.
We took all the paperwork into District office who then are supposed to email you (though we never received an email) to tell you Fire Officer will call .. We were actually going past Fire Station and went in to see what was happening and a big hunky fireman came back with us in the car to inspect gas tank. All ok but we were advised papers now go to Police Station and in about 3 weeks the permit will be ready to collect from the District Office. Hope that helps

How 188
The application paperwork needed is:
application form
Kocan or sales agreement
copy of the building permit
original stamped (on the reverse) site plan, obtained from the Land Registry in Lefkosa
receipt for the fire extinguisher
original signed contract with the gas supplier
For properties built after 2010, a copy of the mechanical project, this can be found in the green construction project folder with the original planes relating to the property.
Then the property and tank need to be inspected by the fire department who will issue their report to the District Office.

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
Good Morning, all.
Quick thoughts for those about to start process.
- Follow above re documents required (spot on)
- If there are any issues with the Fire Dept, the officer will tell you what must be done to comply with the new regs. If changes need to be made you have to do this or permit will not be issued. When done you have to re-apply - a new visit by the Fire dept is necessary.
- Follow up the Fire Dept visit after, say, two weeks. Yes, they say they will/have written to tell you the permit has been approved, but they don't. When you visit to follow up, they will likely inform you that approval has been granted, and will issue permit there & then. Cost 54tl. Has to be renewed in December, for 12 months.
- The InterGas office asked me if we had a new permit, which yes. Order for delivery placed yesterday (Weds) and was told would be today.
- Tanker arrived at 10.30 a.m. today. Driver asked to see permit, which okay, and he connected up and delivery completed. I think this was excellent service.

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
We were told the water pump needed to be moved as it was less than three metres from the tank. We had it moved, took photos to prove it had been done and application approved and sent to the police. The fire officer suggested the photos to save another inspection.
Very helpful fire officers. ..cannot fault their service and advice.

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
It was actually 110.70TL that I paid 51TL for 2015 and 59.70TL for this year. I can only assume that if you paid less than this then you must have a smaller tank - ours is 1.75 tonne I believe, so quite big.

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
I can email you an application form if you give me your email address (it is more than 500 kibts so cannot attach it to this thread).
The building permit is the permit given to the builder (or land owner) by the local authority (I think) when an application was made to build on the land.

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
Hi everyone, great to have this information, but I am now confused, not difficult!!
Do I understand that for properties built before 2010, no mechanical drawings are need to the gas tank certificate?

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
I had the fire man come around yesterday, to inspect my tank for the permit, & he said I have to move my tank.
Has any one else had this happen , if so who did it for you, I have cotancted Intergas & they gave me a number to ring & he wants TL 2000 to move it.

Re: Inter Gas Tank Permits.
Don't assume that the Permit lasts for one year from date of purchase, it doesn't. It is renewable each December regardless of when you first purchase it.

Permits last one year from December 31st. No idea why they can't be a year from issue date.

Belfast Belle
Mine was a difficult job since he had to lay a new concrete base some way from the old - and the repositioning included digging up some of the garden to redirect the out going gas pipe.
Best to phone them and get them to look at the job and give you a quote.
