Re: NO NAILS
I bought some "No nails" with me from the UK (love the stuff) and when it finished, I found some in Mr Pound (Girne)......just as good.
Yes, immersion heater being used over the last couple of days.

Hi Sparky Mike - can recommend PL 700 Total Fix - you can get from Cagra or Marshalls. Worked brilliantly!!

Re: NO NAILS
Please satisfy my curiosity as to what No Nails and Total Fix are! Might come in useful.
No I havent needed the immersion heater yet - there has been enough sun to get plenty of hot water from the solar pannels. But I havent done a heavy wash for the last few days - only on express setting low temp.

To get an idea about 'No Nails' et al, click here
Given the context, I imagine that Total Fix is 'similar' (as a Spanish waiter once said, while presenting me with a plate of scrambled eggs after I'd ordered poached)
And before anyone else mentions it, I know that you didn't actually mention eggs those particular eggs were introduced into the debate purely for illustrative purposes - artistic licence , you might say...
Incidentally, does anyone know if you actually need a licence to be an artist, and if so, why?

Re: NO NAILS
I have had my immersion on for an hour during the last 3 evenings.
Can I hang pictures with 'no nails'?

Re: NO NAILS
I suppose you could if you wanted the pictures there permanently. It is more suited for areas where you cannot screw proper fixings to the wall. We once 'mended a broken leg on a coffee table too'
Great stuff.

Re: NO NAILS
Strewth, Sue. You once mended a broken leg on a coffee table with no nails ? If the Wildebeest (bless her) breaks my leg I hope I can hop to the hospital not be splayed across a coffee table and molested with glue. On a more serious note, for those of you that have an immersion system and it takes an age to heat the water in the cold months, only delivering hot water after gallons of cold has exited the system, I recommend that you consider fitting one of the gas bottle heaters. Good quality Turkish rather than Chinese products are now available. The sheer convenience of having controlled temperature hot water at the turn of a tap and savings on electricity and water makes it a viable option and the immersion can be retained for emergency use only.

Re: NO NAILS
Can't speak for No Nails, however, we've just come back from holiday and I've done masses of washing. The water is just short of boiling and of course it helps that it rained when we were away because it washed the dust off the solar panels. We try and aim water on the panels about once a month during the summer to wash the dust off. Seems to make a lot of difference.
