Asda/EE SIM card problem

Have an Asda SIM card which uses the EE network. It has stopped working to make and receive calls and sending texts.
When I try and make a call or send a text it says calls barred.

Trying to unlock call baring on the phone it wants a 4 digit code. I don't have one and never put one on the phone.

If I go south it all works fine when I connect to the networks there but on return to the north it stops again.

Asda mobile cannot work out what the problem is.

Has anyone else had this Problem?

Probably needs to be registered for use out here. Go into a main Turkcell office and they should be able to sort this out for you

It would appear EE no longer have a roaming agreement with Turkcell or telsim. I had a virgin sim that also stopped working in the North but would work in the South. Neither virgin or turkcell customer services could help. I ended up getting a Vodaphone UK PAYG sim. That one does work
As I got older I congratulated myself on my tolerance..... Now I realise I just don't give a "ooops"

I've had an EE SIM card in one of my 'phones here for over 10 years & it's still working fine, I've never bothered to register it!

There's the answer!
It's ASDA, not EE!
(I can vouch for that; I - and my neighbours - have been battling ASDA and their bought local council for five years now..... )

Hi, I registered my Virgin pay as you go sim after it was blocked earlier this month, used the web site to send required info and copy of passport, didn't really know what I was doing as it was all in Turkish, however the next day the phone was unlocked and working.

I would suggest having a read of the thread (all of it!) linked in message 7 above, and my personal experience is given in message 23 in that thread - as I said, my vodafone sim gave no problems, the Telsim needed registration (which I did), so I think your best bet is to enquire at Turkcell and/or Telsim - and see if either can solve your problem! If not, the only alternative is to buy a sim from one or the other for use while in TRNC.....

If you do a search on this forum for" register mobile phones" it will give you the web site you need to register your sim with, I put my sim and phone number without the zero and uplifted a copy of my passport into the document section, the thread tells you how to gain your sim number, sorry I deleted the web site after completing the registration process.
