Re: BBC Olympics
I find it difficult to believe that the BBC coverage is terrible.
In 2012 for the London Olympics we had SKY here in Cyprus and had access to at least eight BBC channels via the red button to see almost everything.
This year BBC offer even more choice, at least 3000 hours over the options of TV, radio and online transmissions,
550 hours of network coverage across 17 days.
My family in the UK are well satisfied with this.
Unfortunately for us in Cyprus we no longer have SKY so we watch transmissions on Digiturk.
(We don't watch TV online using a VPN).
Digiturk (or at least the Turkish stations that broadcast the Olympics), in my opinion, are light years behind the BBC - both technically and for the choice and quality of the sports they decide to transmit. Overall a disappointing alternative to the BBC.
So if you can get the full range of BBC coverage then you are much more lucky than us.

Re: BBC Olympics
2012 bbc provided the cameras and commentary
2016 bbc provide commentary not cameras I presume Brazilian network for cameras
So for team gymnastics very little shots of the British gymnasts just whilock has done this as a comment whilst focusing on a Chinese or other competitor so I would think a nightmare for the bbc

I'm sorry I don't understand what you are saying. The U.K. Tv licence is for watching the tv in UK not TRNC.

Re: BBC Olympic
Can't see a problem in TRNC at all. I agree about the quality of the camera work though. Couple of days ago, our girl was working her socks off on the Gymnastics bar and all the Brazilian camera man was showing was a Chinese girl redoing her hair style. Very difficult for the commentators.

The old story of "you get what you pay for". We subscribe to NTV with a MAG250 box and had a huge range of Olympic coverage including all Sky and many other channels.

Re: BBC Olympic
muffin1, OK, I give up!!! I also subscribe to NTV - web not MAG250 - and have all the Sky channels as well but I am finding it hard to find Olympic coverage of any great extent? The most I can get of coverage is from NBC Sports and that is focused on the USA as you would expect, Sports Net Ontario seems dedicated to sports that have Canadian athletes in it and BBC seems to be full of horse jumping (fine if you like it but the poor horse never gets a medal only the passenger gets them). So which channels are you viewing please? There is a mass of badminton (my preferred sport) on today as there has been every day but I always either miss the 5 minutes of it or it just never appears.
I know its me - what am I doing wrong please?????

Re: BBC Olympic
Thanks for all the help and advice people, am now watching the mens diving on BBC4 which is advertised as mens beach volley ball and the badminton mixed doubles semi finals. Yep, BBC coverage is the very best there is - so long as you don't actually want to watch what is supposed to be on!!!
