I was just about to get quotes myself so I will be interested in any replies. I know it is not cheap. Apart from the cost of the tank itself it needs a crane and a couple of men to get it up there ... and then there is the plumbing work to be done.

Apparently the tank manufacturers can supply the full service.

Hi, I recently had the hot water tank and the associated plumbing replaced which cost 1200 tl. You don't need a crane as the tank is of course empty when put up there, depending where you live I would suggest going to Mr Pipe near Erderners Supermarket just past China Bizarre, Ozankoy.

That is way over the odds I'm afraid. Have recently had 2 replaced for friends, 1 in Lapta cost 750TL supplied and fitted by Ersem Trading and the other in Karsiyaka was 550 TL by the tank makers down Tin Pan Alley. If you are closer to Kyrenia it is only 500TL fitted. There is also a guy in Lapta on the cemetery road near the nursery school and he charges around 650TL.

Just had our hot water cylinder on roof replaced by Presteknik( on the turning by Freddie's bar) 650TL. I think the original poster means the 1 tonne tank that is above this. Either way,no need for crane.

Had our old metal roof water tank replaced about 3 yrs ago. Replaced with plastic tank. Price was around 450TL. No crane needed,, two blokes and some rope. Old metal tank taken away after.

For information I have had a quote from Halil at bast dreams of 600 to 700 which seems very fair for your information. I will post details of my tank fitting together with his number once the job is completed.
