Caution if using Garanti Cash machine.

Went to withdraw £500 out at the Garanti bank cash machine at K-Pet petrol station in Alsancak today.
Returned the card and gave a receipt but no cash.

I had exactly the same happen to me, at the same atm, fortunately the money was not taken from my bank. I now only use the ATM inside the HSBC bank, so at least you have someone to sort it out.

My partner and I both withdrew that amount of money (GBP) yesterday and it was fine but worrying that this can happen.

Yes, that one is not reliable... I used it a week ago and it swallowed my card, no money no nothing. However it obviously understands Irish threats because after a lot of swearing and thumping... got me card back.
