I don't understand it. No chikardas ( sorry about the spelling ) no mosquitos, no moths. Not much at all.
Has there been some spraying? We are in Karmi, is it just here?

Well, we've got a few mossies and moths in Alsancak!

As regards Cicadas, here's a clipping from Wikipedia: -

Most cicadas go through a life cycle that lasts from two to five years. Some species have much longer life cycles, such as the North American genus, Magicicada, which has a number of distinct "broods" that go through either a 17-year or, in some parts of the world, a 13-year life cycle.

Not a good year for cicadas, maybe there'll be a lot around next year. Mosquitoes have been less of a nuisance this year where we are, but no idea why. My wife has been saying exactly the same as the subject line.

No Cicadas here in Bogaz and few mosquitoes, unlike a couple of weeks ago when we were plagued with Mossies. Strangely enough my main problem is Grasshopper poo falling from the palm tree over my terrace. I could earn a living by bagging and selling the stuff.

No rain, no water, no insects and without a doubt no damn mossies because they breed in stagnant water and apart from the odd drips we get from the mains every Saturday - this is NONE! Maybe the Turkish water has them all scared - whatever the Turkish water is???
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Don't worry, the are here in Bavaria. Never known so many insects here, and this year has been very bad for spiders.

And no ladybirds normally spend hours saving them from drowning in the pool. Have only seen one this year.

Ladybirds would be good here, they could eat the mealybugs that are destroying hundreds of shrubs on the development.
