Legal Wedding for UK couple in TRNC?
Good Morning All,
Does anyone know where I can find information on whether it is possible for a UK couple to have Wedding in TRNC that will be legally recognised in the UK?
Also, is their a minimum time requirement for the couple to be in TRNC before the Wedding date?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
HH

The paperwork is a nightmare and involves going back to Uk. Unless you really want to get married here, you might be better doing it in the UK.
Teresa Cefa who is a wedding planner (North Cyprus Weddings) can guide you through the minefield of a marriage here. You'll find her on fb.

Hello Fatma,
Thanks very much for your reply.
The couple concerned (my daughter and her boyfriend) still live in the UK, so that is one problem solved.
I'll have a look at Teresa's website.
Best Regards,
HH

There is a lot of information in the category "Weddings" at the top of the page.

Thanks for all the replies.
They are coming over for a week in September, so we will get in touch with some folks then.
They are planning to marry in September 2017, so there is plenty of time to sort things out.
Cheers,
HH

My son and his partner who both live in the TRNC full time, are planning to get married next year in the Karpaz. What will they need to do in order to do this? They have been told that there is a local man who can marry them without any problems but I am sceptical about this.

The usual way for most expats is to have a civil wedding in the UK and a blessing in Cyprus I believe.

They should speak to the Registrar of the district in which they live, who will explain all the requirements.the butler wrote:My son and his partner who both live in the TRNC full time, are planning to get married next year in the Karpaz. Kerry, that is mostly Cypriots in London who choose that path, because of regulations imposed on them which do not apply to ex pats.
And to Butler, beware! Sounds odd, - one does need to talk to the District Office for rules concerning official weddings.
any of the wedding planners can give you full details, but for instance, a recent couple from Prague had the official ceremony in Kyrenia and then had a 'blessing/celebration on the beach at Karpaz. Equally a London Cyp marrying an ex pat, chose the British route for the legal and again a 'blessing' on the Karpaz.
An ything is possible (well almost everything) but one needs to find out from the District Office, or the TRNC office in London, Bedford Square.
Do talk to a wedding planner, or I have some contact phone numbers etc, if anyone cares to p.m. me (or e mail).
