Re: TV'S
It'll be fine.
The local programmes via a TV aerial are all in Turkish, of course, so if you want english language programmes, then you can use either a satellite receiver and dish, or a pc/laptop/android box/mag box or whatever connected to the internet.

Re: TV'S
Rather than start a new thread I'm going to piggyback on this one if it's OK. Currently I am with Digiturk as mainstay TV where the mian benefit has been good coverage of International news, films and English Premier League FOOTIE! I also have an android box for watching UK TV through Filmon.com and other apps showing films (you know the one), STV etc. Digiturk is no longer showing EPL though that may change at the end of the month, so they say.
Last night at was at Windows at Girne watching me old mate Barry Snakes, and I couldn't help but notice that an Arabic channel (I think) called Bein, I believe was showing the Roma/Porto game but also advertising that they were showing lots of top EPL games live and in English. Should Digiturk not come up with the goods and I'm forced to ditch them, how do I get this Channel. I'm not interested in watching Sky's UK EPL programme as that is limited and Digiturk always showed more games.
Can anyone out there in tecchie land help me out, please.

Find Navek's thread on KODI.
Install KODI on your android box.
Install the 'Sports Devil' add-on or one of the add-ons that Navek mentions in the thread.
When you've done that, come back and we'll give you more instructions

I think I need a new android box, we've had ours a couple of years now and when I tried to install Kodi it said 'Not compatible with your box' (or words to that effect). Where's the best place to get one here?

Hi Frontalman,
We installed the system that you saw at the Barry Snakes Gig. It is a 'genuine' beIN Sports Package which doesn't use the internet and works 100% of the time using a small 90cm satellite dish.
If you enjoy live sports, I assume, when your favourite team(s) is/are playing, that you will want to sit down and watch the best quality picture with a "No Buffering" guarantee. This system doesn't need or use the internet at all and therefore, comes with this guarantee
It's not for everyone because there's an annual subscription to pay, but there's lots of sport including English Premier League, Champion's League, FA Cup, League Cup etc. (Formula 1) with English commentary AND there's also News, Music, Movies, Travel and other channels on the Full Package
Now, as well as the standard HD Receiver, we also have Ultra High Definition Receivers with built in PVR (but, they are not cheap)
As you are already a long-standing customer of ours (it must be 10+ years since you first started using our services) - I may also tempt you with a discount
You have our number, but feel free to ask questions here

Re: TV'S
There's Paul Aldred at Satellite Cyprus - not dirt cheap, but excellent backup and aftersales service, or the 'Public' store at Mall of Cyprus. Paul would most likely install KODI for you.
If there are any others in the North, perhaps someone else could point them out...
Incidentally, if your box is not compatible with the current version of KODI, you should still be able to install an older version from when it was called XBMC - all the older versions are still available for download - and they still work OK with most add-ons.
addendum: - 'must learn to type faster!' - Paul got in first...

I've known Paul and Gwyn since they were at nursery school installing Watch With Mother on the Redifusion sets
Yes I will ring them - just thought I'd try something under my own steam for a change - another miserable failure!
