Published today in Hurriyet Daily News.
Look at the last paragraph - funny, I thought that Turkey did not own Cyprus quite yet!!
"Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım signed a document on Aug. 27, declaring the nine-day public holiday starting from Sept. 12 for Eid al-Adha. According to the document, all public employees will be granted administrative leave for a full day on Friday, Sept. 16 including the preceding and following weekends.
The head of the Travel Agencies Association of Turkey (TÜRSAB), Başaran Ulusoy, said that around 700,000 people were expected to go on vacation during the Eid holiday.
“They will likely prefer the warmest destinations, including the Mediterranean resorts of Antalya, Cyprus and Fethiye as well as the Aegean resort of Bodrum,” he noted, as quoted by daily Hürriyet on Aug. 29."

The way I read it, it doesn't suggest Turkey owns Cyprus, it just describes it as a Mediterranean resort - which it is.

It isn't just the way you read it, that is exactly what it says, that they will go to Mediterranean resorts which includes Cyprus.
The pretense of this thread is entirely fictitious.

Yes, of course you are correct.
Perhaps I should have copied the whole report.
I was just having a mischievous little dig at Mr Ulusoy since the report clearly focusses on Turkey’s battered tourist industry where hotel occupancy in their resorts has been extremely low since Russia’s ban on charter flights to Turkey and the recent attempted coup.
So I’m not quite sure how Turkish visitors to Cyprus are going to increase their domestic hotel occupancy rates.
So apologies for misleading you.
However, on a more serious note, I feel that the ongoing gradual “turkification” (I don’t like the word but I think it was coined here a year or so ago) of Northern Cyprus is of concern and is an important topic that does need later discussion in a detailed and meaningful manner on this forum since it could ultimately affect both ex-pats and TCs, especially in the light of recent events in Turkey and the actions of President Erdogan.

Could you give some examples of what Turkification actually so as to facilitate the detailed and meaningful discussion of this concern of yours?
I presume you are not referring to number of Turkey turks coming to live in North Cyprus, as on an TRNC expat forum it would be somewhat ironic given their infinitely closer heritage to Turkish Cypriots and Cyprus vs an expat and the fact that in spite of this they have the same requirements for citizenship.
